Third Time's The Charm

Alex practically laughed at their shocked faces. "It's honestly not that hard." He called to them as he massaged his mate's back gently. "Ummm.... Nymph did you realise you only have two tits and three babies?" Alex mused... feeding would be great fun. "Hades move out of the way. I've done this before and I'm way more qualified." A females voice called over the sound of Nikolai's groans. She appeared from the crowd in green scrubs. She quickly climbed into the back of the van checking over the twins before checking Nikolai from head to toe. "You've both done an amazing job. Multiple Omega births are really dangerous, I've lost both babies and the omega every time. You're honestly doing freaking amazing." She smiled at Alex as she checked Nikolai's ass.

"Now there's a bit of tearing but that's probably because you didn't dilate in time. That's an easy fix. You seem to be doing great. Are they all attached to the same placenta?" She looked at Alex who shugged. Hades growled as he pushed through the crowd. "No they aren't woman. There's identical twins and a fraternal third." She glared back at Hades before smiling at Alex, "I guess that'll be fun. You can cut that cord now hun." Alex just shook his head sticking with Hades' original instructions and ignoring her. He rubbed gently at his mate's back and stomach urging him to continue. His body relented and began heavy contractions again. Nikolai's screams frightened some of the nurse's standing in the crowd. Hades quickly ushered them away while keeping an eye on his patient.

Alex watched as the muscles in his mate rippled pulsing the head of their next infant forward. "You've got this Nymph, so close now." Alex called as he pushed on his mate's stomach. The head crowned and pushed through with another lot of blood. Nikolai let out a gentle whine as his body shook. "I know you can do this. You've scaled cliffs and lived in a forest. You've got this." Alex encouraged while cradling the tiny baby's head. With that encouragement Nikolai pushed one last time, popping the shoulders out of him and into Alex's awaiting blanket. The tiny baby was quickly wiped down and the umbilical cords cut. The smallest was a baby boy, his body tiny compared to the others. He placed the small boy for Nikolai to see. Hades quickly jumped into the van, unlatching the second girl from Nikolai's breast.

"Ok boys, we've gotta get you all checked and warm." Hades sang as he lifted Nikolai onto a stretcher. Alex placed the eldest girl in Nikolai's arms before wrapping the other two and cradling them himself as he followed his mate into the plain grey building. Inside the white halls were lit by fluorescent tubes. The cold white interior made Alex hold his infants closer. He followed Hades as he pushed the stretcher into a quiet room. It was a soft green with a comfy brown chair beside the bed. Nikolai was slid into the bed as three little cribs were brought into the room. Alex hesitantly placed his bundles into the cribs, taking the eldest from Nikolai. Hades sat at the end of the bed and delivered the after birth before leaving the couple alone. Machines were then hooked up to all four of them, the beeping making Alex stress.

"Hey, I'm ok. They're going to check my vitals and the baby's. Then they're going to check our boy since he's so small. Then they weigh and measure them. All we have to do is come up with names." Alex smiled at his mate's gentle voice. "Like that won't be hard..." He groaned. They hadn't thought about names at all, they were still in honeymoon mode. That thought reminded Alex of the small ring inside a small box inside his jacket. He'd promised his mate from the start that they'd be married, had hoped it would happen in the right order. He smiled to himself as he gazed out the window as the first snow started to fall. "It's starting to snow Nymph. The first snow of winter." He stated as he watched the delicate flakes float from the sky. "What about Winter?" Nikolai called as he looked at the eldest girl. She was still wrapped in the dirty blankets like her siblings.

Alex turned to him smiling, "Who's last name?" He held up the small velvet box winking at his mate. "Oh I thought you'd never ask." Nikolai burst into laughter. Alex slid the delicate ruby ring onto Nikolai's finger. "What about this, Winter Ruby Gardener?" Alex nodded at his mate. They had one down two to go. A nurse came in and did measurements and checked the boy thoroughly. Once she was happy with his state she left. The couple sat together bouncing name ideas back and forth. They'd only decided on two things: the eldest girls name and that the boy will have Hades as a middle name. "I honestly am not sure... What about Anne? It's your mum's name right? It'll be a good connection to her." Alex thought aloud as he sat in the brown chair gently rocking back and forth with the unnamed little girl in his arms. "That would be great. What's your mother's name?" Nikolai mumbled back. His eyes were barely open as he yawn again. "Her name is Gina. Anne Gina Gardener." Alex replied as he watched his mates tired face.

"Sleep mate." Alex whispered as he placed Anne back in her crib. The infants had all had a bath and were now wrapped in clean blankets with matching beanies. Nikolai began gently snoring, the sound soothing the alpha. "How are they?" Hades' voice came from the doorway where he leaned against the frame. Alex just smiled at his friend motioning him forward. "We're all doing great. The nurses say they're all really healthy and that Nikolai is starting to heal. We're just having problems with names." He let out a gentle chuckle as he thought about the last two hours he'll never get back. "Tell me what you've got." Hades put an arm gently around his shoulder as they smiled down at the babies. "This is Winter Ruby Gardener. It was the first snow this afternoon and his engagement ring is a Ruby. Then we have Anne Gina Gardener, after our mothers. And this is Blank Hades Gardener. We wanted a way to thank you for everything. We just can't work out a first name." Alex sighed as he rubbed his tired eyes.

He hadn't recovered from the ordeal, his instincts keeping him awake. "What about Theodore? Theo helped a lot. He was the one who built your house out here and he ensured we could get through." Alex sat in the chair and nodded thinking about his friend Theo. Hades just chuckled as he left the new family. Nikolai was breast feeding when Alex woke up. He watched as his mate gently rubbed the infants head as they suckled. "Hades suggested Theo for the boy." Alex mumbled as he stretched out his body. Nikolai smiled at his sleepy alpha. "We've been cleared to go to our new house once we have names. You were asleep almost 18 hours." Nikolai chuckled as Alex stood from the chair. He leant down and kissed his mates forehead before kissing the baby's. "How do we tell them apart?" Alex whined as he looked at the two girls. Nikolai burst into laughter. He eventually calmed down and sighed. "We'll dress them in different colours for now. But you can tell. Winter's eyes are going green while Anne's are turning blue."
