They were roused from their dreams by the sound of yelling upstairs. Alex motioned for his mate to stay put. He snuck up the wooden stairs, trying to make out what was happening. "LET GO OF ME YOU BRUTE!!" Sheila yelled. "Would you shut up woman. they're sleeping." a male replied. He knew that voice but couldn't place it. He knew it was someone from the society but who.... The yelling stopped and footsteps moved through the house towards them. Alex quickly grabbed a brick from under the stairs and jammed it at the base of the door. He held his breath, his heat racing and adrenaline pumping, as he waited for the door to explode towards him. He prepared to block them from his pregnant mate at all costs.
The gentle knock and a gentle hello made Alex laugh. "Hello Theo. " He replied through the door. He stooped down sliding the brick between the steps. The door slowly opened to reveal thick eyebrows hanging like curtains above shining blue eyes. Theodore Askend towered over everyone but Hades, his size making him the perfect guard for The Society and their clients. He smiled, making him look younger. Alex hadn't seen Theo in 5 years and as such they hugged, missing each other. Theo trailed Alex down the stairs, Nikolai curled up trying to protect his stomach. Alex just sighed and sat beside his mate as he uncurled. "Theo was my first contact at The Society. He gave the contacts I might need to disappear someday, the contacts we're using." Nikolai just nodded, smiling. He was exhausted, his body naturally curling into his mate.
Theo squatted down, setting the duffle bag before him. "How long have you two been together?" his voice was quiet, wanting not to disturb the sweet omega. His natural smell calm the alphas in the room. "It's been about four months... He was a case. A runaway from the procedure. I caught him and he caught me." Theo saw the love radiating from the two. He wish for that someday but the one he desired was an absolute hell cat. He turned to look up the stairs watching her dress follow her away. Alex frowned at him, "Why do you have a bag Theo?" The bag was pushed towards him. Alex slid the zipper open revealing money, clothes and food. "Your trip is scheduled for Monday, 3 days from now. It's a two hour trip to the border and another hour to the town. You can't go conventional ways, you'll be in the back of Hades' van to the border then horses." Theo smiled at his friend resting a hand on his shoulder. "Relax Alex. Your mate will be ok."
Alex smiled and slid his hand over his mates lower stomach. "Actually we're expecting, I know it's quick..." Theo burst into a laugh but quickly shut his mouth, eyeing the sleeping omega. "It took you long enough... getting rusty in your old age?" Alex punch his friend giving him a dirty look. "I'll get some baby stuff too so that you have something ready." Theo gently spoke to his friend. He stood and stretched his back before wandering up the stairs. Alex sat there rubbing his mate's stomach thinking about their future. The wilderness is dangerous and can get terribly cold in winter. His instincts kicked in and he immediately started doing research on his phone. He researched wilderness survival and then stuff about babies. He went to watch an Omega birthing video but the image scared the shit out of him. He'd have to help his mate but they had time. An Omega pregnancy was fast, only 6 months. They had time... unless his little Nymph was further along...

I've had a bit of writers block recently so that's why this has been delayed. I have a plan for the future of this story. This is a short story so don't expect another hundred chapters. I have a clean ending for this story but I might come back to it in the future.
I've also started another book which was prompted by a dream I had. It's called Predator or Hunter. Check it out. It's a short Supernatural romance set in an all girl's boarding school that seems to have some funky stuff going on around Julie.
