Chapter 2

Alex woke up with a slight headache. He’d decided to sleep on the couch, not wanting to bother Jayden. Alex knew it was better to leave him alone until Jayden was ready to share what disturbed him.

Alex went to their bedroom but Jayden wasn’t there. There was a light coming from their small office. Alex peeked into the room quietly. There was Jayden sitting at the desk. Alex was about to say something to him when he found Jayden staring blankly into the laptop screen.

Jayden turned around when Alex started to walk away. “Alex, wait,” he said.

Alex turned around and waited wordlessly, sighing. Jayden looked sad.

“What’s wrong, Jay—” Alex began but Jayden raised his hand, and Alex went silent. Jayden rose from his chair and he was in Alex’s personal space at once. He took Alex’s face in his hands.

“I’m sorry. You did nothing wrong. I’m sorry I acted like a jealous lover. It’s not you at all. It’s me.”

“What are you talking about?” Alex gaped.
