Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 1

,"Thanks dad, I LOVE IT!!!" Said the young Apollo Musashi to his dad on his 10th birthday after getting just what he wanted while wearing his favorite flat brimmed hat (his signature look). The flat brim was pure jet black and the cap itself was a dark gray. A new bokken (A wooden practice katana used for training) gave him feelings of a bright future and the spark to become stronger. Training each day over and over again was never enough for him… he always wanted more. So his father decided to train him in his family dojo. The feeling of getting hit and getting hits excited him beyond no measure. Each day he increased his own skill and strength even further with hopes of getting into the defenders school (although the why will be told further in this story). A school meant to instruct people on how to protect their fellow humans and monsters from invasions beyond the rifts.

The rifts were space-time based anomalies which spread through every Nexus Cluster across every possible infinite Nexus and was across both the physical and spiritual realm within a dimension itself.

5 years later,

,"C'mon brother, can't you make some time for your family or is all you think about training" His sister Aki said to Apollo who at the moment was doing his pushups. ,"I could spare a little time for a brat," Apollo said, demanding a punch to the back of his head ,"OUCH, how is that even possible for me to hurt myself YOU MUSCLE HEAD". ,"It's because you have to do a palm strike if you want to get actual damage to the back of the head" Apollo remarked ,"Well anyway it's time for dinner smart ass". Musashi got up and put back on his shirt to have his decency back for dinner. Wafting in his nose was the smell of his favorite family stir fry full of protein and nutrients he needed to grow. ,"Oh boy, it smells good today" Drool dripped from his mouth ,"You say that every time this is cooked, ugh you never change". Sitting down at the table his mom said to him ,"How was training today?" Apollo responded with a quick ,"Good, I was doing upper body" As he scarfed down his food talking all the way through. Each bite was better than the next as the sweet but savory mix of vegetables, rice, chicken, ham and soy sauce sank into his taste buds. ,"Shoooooo good" which was followed by his sister and father replying ,"Can you please talk after you've swallowed" Apollo replied ,"sorry not sorry" His Japanese father was both serious and fun at points never deciding which one he 100% wanted to be. His sister looking mainly Japanese was sometimes naggy to her brother and took life way too seriously. His American mother (who he took after) was always really nice and loved almost everyone like her own children, she was sweet to a fault and was always under the assumption that good people had good things waiting to happen to them. ,"Another bowl please" The still partially hungry Apollo said ,"NO, YOU'VE ALREADY HAD 5 BOWLS" his angry sister said. But of course his mom said ,"Of course you can" with a smile on her face. Eating bowl after bowl he finally got full and decided to play on his PC for the rest of the day until finally he went to bed to rest and recover. His father taught him a special technique for recovery with his Ki. Green aura spread across his body healing all of his injuries and repairing his muscles.

These special techniques were called arts and got stronger with the amount of Ki put into each. Ki is an energy everybody could use and shifted the very laws of nature depending on how you used it. Ki reserves were increased with every use and surpassed their own limits with how much you used. Battles and combat were usually the best way to increase it exponentially which was why Apollo had a dream of becoming a defender. He had a thought (I want to grow stronger and reach a height that nobody has achieved and be the strongest in the universe!!!). Granted he had high aspirations, he had a will to match that of the gods and dreams that surpassed all reason. The history books would one day hear my name, he then screamed ,"The legend of the Flat-Brim Samurai will one day be heard by EVERYONE!!!"
