Sad reality

Adam sat in his office thinking about what his secretary had said. It couldn't have been possible that he was the man she liked. Had it been true that he was the man then she would not have rejected him all those times. She would have accepted his proposal and they would have been together.

He would not have been so hurt by her if truly he was the one in her heart. He shook his head to remove the idea that he could be the man that Chloe was in love with.

There was a knock at the door and before he could answer the door flew open and Chloe walked inside. She went ahead to take a seat right in front of him.

"What are you doing here?" Adam asked her confused by why she decided to visit him.
