Being Thankful

"Okay," Marcella nodded. "I'll talk to Tony about this and handle it appropriately, Uncle," she smiled. Uncle Karl's face relaxed as she agreed. 

Obviously, Uncle Karl said that because he cared about her. Maybe, her father would have said the same if he was alive. Marcella was not offended although she was a little disappointed Uncle Karl cared for what others talked about her. Then again, isn't that an expression of love?

She didn't have to talk to Tony about it. If it was that widespread, Tony would already know about it. If he didn't ask her about it, then it means he was not disturbed by such rumors. She said that just to pacify her uncle. 

The car ride was silent after that.

"Did Paul have Dad killed, Uncle?" Marcella asked breaking the comfortable silence.
