6 Will You Marry Me?

"Do you wish to continue your studies after marriage?" Wang Shenzhi questioned when he heard Liu Rushi's plans of beginning her specialization studies in a few months.

Liu Rushi scrutinized his face for a few seconds. Wang Shenzhi was a broad man with a square-shaped face. With thick eyebrows lining his narrow monolid eyes, he certainly did possess the charm which could be appealing to most women. With his extremely muscular upper body, he definitely looked like someone who would fight for you.

She focused on her teacup as she spoke up, "If there's no problem, I'd definitely want to."

Wang Shenzhi smiled listening to her answer as he chuckled, "Don't worry, just asking. You can continue your studies or work, whatever you prefer." Liu Rushi looked up at him gratefully, pleased with his reply.

"What do you expect in a married relationship?" She posed a question, to not make him feel as if he was the only one interested in getting to know more about each other. Also, it was a good way to enquire whatever was required from her afterward.

"My expectations are pretty low. I just want someone who would love and care about me, respect my mother and follow along with her teachings, someone who would stand behind me in support and to complete all her duties as Mrs. Wang Shenzhi." Wang Shenzhi smirked a little as he listed down his requirements of a wife.

"Pretty easy, I believe. I'm not asking much, am I?" He chuckled a little as he looked for her affirmation. Liu Rushi pondered about his question for a while as the light in her eyes flickered with changing emotions. Alas! Wang shenzhi couldn't see it because she'd affixed her eyes onto the coffee table.

"No, it's not much. In fact, it's what a good woman's duty entails." She spoke up after a few seconds as she looked up at him and flashed him a small smile.

"Good. You're a pretty understanding and smart person." Wang Shenzhi's affinity towards the young, petite woman in front of him was increasing as time progressed. Not only was she one of the prettiest women he'd come across, but also she was innocent, understanding, and a little smart. A perfect choice to be his wife!

"How many relationships have you been in?" Liu Rushi decided to inquire more about his personal life. Wang Shenzhi looked up at her in a little surprise for a second but then a full-blown smirk appeared upon his face.

"Wow. I didn't expect that question from a girl like you!" He chuckled.

'A girl like me! What does that even mean?' She thought inwardly.

"And to answer your question, I've had a couple of serious relationships, some casual flings! I've got some pretty great experience." He shrugged carelessly.

"How 'bout you?" He probed.

"I've never been in a relationship." Liu Rushi answered honestly.

"Woah, an innocent dame, who's so attractive yet so pure!" He exclaimed out aloud. Liu Rushi was never a girl who'd easily blush by such comments, so she just resorted to flashing him another one of her smiles.

The duo's conversation was shortly interrupted by their brothers who'd come to call them for lunch. With the two men's appearance, Liu Rushi got distracted as she focused all her attention on them. She was surprised to find the two of them conversing with each other. She knew her brother well enough to know that he was not a people's person, especially with strangers. And from what she'd noticed about Wang Qingshan, who by the way had not even said a word to her, was a similar, introverted kind. For the two of them to hit it off and actually engage in a conversation with each other was amusing to her.

However, despite how surprised she was about the whole situation, she was not a person who delved too deep into other people's matters. Thus, she maintained a calm, sophisticated persona on the surface even though her insides were bubbling with curiosity.

'Maybe they relate more because of how similar they are in age or it must be their ice-cold personalities which resonate with each other!" Liu Rushi thought in her mind while rolling her eyes discreetly.

Wang Qingshan walked back inside with Liu Weimin after taking one last glance at the to-be couple. Liu Rushi and Wang Shenzhi trailed after them, walking beside each other.

While Liu Rushi had her eyes trained in front of her as she clasped her fingers together, Wang Shenzhi, being much taller than her by more than a head, glanced at the petite woman beside him as the corner of his lips hooked upwards. He couldn't resist taking multiple glances at the young woman, studying her figure quietly.

Once back inside the living room, Su Jiaying beckoned Wang Shenzhi near her while Liu Rushi was dragged along by Zhou Xiaohui to a corner before she could even reach the living room.

"So?" Zhou Xiaohui prompted her daughter to speak up. Liu Rushi at once averted her eyes towards the Wang family. She knew that Wang Shenzhi was the man she'd been searching for, the one she'd marry.

"Yes, I'm ready to marry Wang Shenzhi." She informed her parents.

The agreement must've been mutual from both sides because the next second, greetings were exchanged and hugs were passed around. Wang Shenzhi tried to hug Liu Rushi however she slipped out of his grasp before he could do so because she felt kind of awkward and uncomfortable in front of everyone.

On the other hand, Wang Qingshan first shook his elder brother's hand in Congratulations. To Liu Rushi, he just simply nodded and flashed a small smile in greetings because he thought it was kinda inappropriate to touch her, not only because she was a stranger to him but also his to-be sister-in-law.

Liu Rushi too returned his smile back and didn't initiate any physical contact with him. She didn't meet his eyes during the exchange as she felt awkward because of her previous misunderstandings. Thankfully, no one noticed their stiff demeanors.
