2 Flame of Power [II]

This gave rise to the beginning of hatred for generations to come. When they were about to fight, both leaders halted, because their love for each other was stronger than any other circumstance.

In the end, both chose to isolate their Clans and decide to have nothing to do with each other.

And with this, the alliance by marriage between both Clans has now... Broken.

They eliminated the traitors, a pity because they were part of the strongest members of their respective clans.

Who would have thought that for a one-sided love, they would end up damaging the foundation of their own Clans?

The traitors, full of hate, for not having their love reciprocated, and for their Clans leaving them aside, departed, leaving behind a gift to their leaders, a curse.

"Thy would not meet each other for a hundred millennia, and would die without longing for the other after a thousand years, if thy see each other for a thousand years, the darkness will devour thy bodies, thy cannot have offspring."

The leaders, ignorant of what was happening to the other, did not take the curse into consideration.

Year after year, passed by, and soon five hundred years later came. But the time didn't help the longing that their hearts were screaming for each other.

Being the mate of the other, something had connected their minds in some other ways, and they make the choice to see their other half from afar, to see if he/she is doing well.

But being enemies for years, they needed a secret way to do so. And the best minds think alike, not less of the souls that are estimated to be together.

There was an unnamed valley that separates both clans, which gave the opportunity to have a beautiful view of both clans. Using this valley to sneak a peak from their beloved, but...

They didn't realize that the moment they reached the Valley, they would see the one who makes them feel to yearn, to see, to hold, and to love.

When they make eye contact, they saw in each other's eyes love, longing, desire, passion, and sadness. Unspeakable emotions were flowing from their hearts at that moment.

Without a second thought, their bodies reacted faster than their expectations and in a couple of seconds, they were kissing passionately, showing how much they missed each other.

As they finished their kiss, they realized what they had done. There was some guilt in their hearts, but the longing and love they had for each other were so strong that nothing mattered to them anymore.

The responsibility for their clans did not matter; neither the responsibility for their leaders. They held each other in their embrace, not wanting to let go of the other.

And since then, they have been seeing each other daily within their clans. Their members knew their leader disappeared for a few hours a day, but they paid little attention to them because they thought it would only be a few days.

Months and years went by, and they remained to do the same thing.

And this was the beginning of what could be their tragic death because they did not realize it that how it affected their bodies to see each other daily for months.

Then, one day, their longing turned into passion and lust, and they ended up making love in that nameless valley. Daily, they reunited in that Valley for almost 100 years. And the Elders pay little attention to their clandestine disappearance.

After several years of sharing intimacy with each other, they realized she hadn't become pregnant.

Female vampires can become pregnant if it meant their mate is their partner, whether to be a human, werewolf, another vampire, or other supernatural beings. Just as the male vampire can get his mate pregnant.

Puzzled by this situation, she sought medical help from her clan and realized that some of her organs were being eaten away by something strange, a black substance that had no smell or taste, and understanding that she could not have children because of the substance, she broke down emotionally.

As a woman, even though she is a vampire, she logged to have descendants from her mate, her beloved.

Even though no one would know who the father of her children was, she wanted to give children to the love of her life. Because there is still hatred towards the other clan for what happened almost 600 years ago.

She sought her beloved and explained to him what was happening, and he did not hesitate to tell her what is happening to him, which was exactly the same. He went for help thinking that he was infertile and realized that a black substance was slowly eating away all his internal organs.

Both were frightened. They went to look for an answer. After years of searching for an answer, they found a human at the bottom of the valley, where they saw each other daily for about a hundred years.

Not being embarrassed, nor imagining if the human was there since the beginning or later on. They didn't care, they just care about the human, because they have been searching for him for a long time, since that day when they were supposed to get married.

The human was no other than the Patriarch of the Human Clan, being able to continue protecting the Flame of Power as its Master.

Seeing these leaders of the Vampires and the Lycans, the human who was on his last breath, become ecstatic, and his last regret was going to have a solution; not wanting to leave the Flame alone, and now it had one.

After knowing their circumstances, the Old Human's Patriarch gives a solution, at the same time, is the same solution for his regret. But the process needs to separate the Flame into two and leave both leaders with one part of it.

By doing this, he not only saves both leaders from being eaten by the substance, but helps them to have more power.

Seeing no other way, the Flame, accepted such agreement because its human Master could not continue to sustain such power; it agreed to split and recognize both leaders as its Masters.

And after doing the Master recognition it formed a soul bond. They saw the past, what happened that day 600 years ago.

They could see that, all these years, they got deceived, and who was behind it all was only the traitors and had nothing to do with both leaders.

They regretted having doubted each other and having lost 600 years of being together, but now they had the Flame, and they could live longer, as well as they could clear the name of their clans, and make an alliance again through marriage.

But before the human died, he told them something that let them indignant and disappointed.

"You're cursed, a hundred millenniums without seeing each other, a thousand years later you will die, and if you see each other before the thousand years the darkness will eat you, the Flame alone can stop the darkness from eating you alive, but you should not see each other until the thousand years are over..."

They did not want to accept such an end, but they had to, is their tragedy.

When they were in despair, the human gave them a light of hope, "This will only be for a hundred millennia, the Flame will make it possible for you to meet again in your next life, but to do so one of you must be the main Master, and it is he or she who will seek the other part of the Flame..."

Understanding that they must die to be born again, they accepted such an end with a purpose to meet again in a hundred millennia. And who would have the responsibility of searching for the other would be the decision of the Flame?

Having finished giving them the last mission and making them promise to fulfill it, the human breathed his last breath and died. The leaders of both clans buried him and make a respective human funeral.

Many humans said that the Patriarch was a coward for having fled with the Flame, but they did not know that he sustained serious injuries. Because of that, he lost consciousness, and it was the Flame who pulled him out of danger.

And he didn't know how the Flame could do such a thing, and that will be forever a mystery.
