19 Ceremony [VI]

Elder Taros didn't know what to say or what to do, everything seemed to be mysterious as if it was something unknown to him, and Elder Vampire, who has lived for millennia, but that time doesn't add up for all the knowledge he had with what he has been observing and discovering in the Little Clan Leader since she entered the main door of the hall.

'Sigh.'

Resigned, he thought 'I won't get surprised anymore when I have anything to do with her, I'll let her do what she wants...'

But poor Elder Taros didn't realize that there will come many moments when she will leave him speechless, with some nonsense, with the worst actions and decisions that she will take, which according to him will be immature, but he will always get surprised when he realizes that, each of those decisions, brings a better result than he would have seized with his oppositions.

"All right, but Little Clan Leader, you must stay close to me for any danger coming your way." He gave her a Stern expression so that she could understand the gravity of what she was doing.

"Yes, I know, thank you Taros..." she told him with a warm smile, expressing her appreciation.

As they both approached the door, it shook violently, and as it did, the ground did too, the other Vampires present could not keep their balance because of the abrupt earth shake, and fell to the ground quickly, even the Council of Elders was taken by surprise.

It was such a serious scare that many screamed.

"What's happening?!"

"The earth is moving!!!"

"A disaster will happen!"

"What shall we do?"

And in the state they were in, they didn't realize that the shaking was coming from the door, but not because it wanted to shake, but because it was showing how excited it was when it realized that little Mara was approaching it.

The other Vampires, too, did not notice that they were all on the ground except for Elder Taros and Clan Leader Mara, who kept moving forward without caring about the rest of the people present.

Elder Taros realized he couldn't do anything against the smile that little Mara was giving him, but he felt better when she accepted his words.

And seeing her expression, he told her a little of the history of the Door, "Door of Destiny, is a supernatural object, that has existed for millions of millennia, it is said that the TRUE Supreme Leader was the one who created this door based on a special stone, that she found in one of her journeys, nobody knows much about it..." when he was about to continue he's interrupted by little Mara.

Mara was listening attentively, the Guardian had told her several things about the door, but she has many questions to ask about it. And she couldn't help but interrupt and ask, "But, if she made the door of stone, why does it look like metal?"

A curious question, because while it's true that the door has crimson scent lines, the door they make it of an unknown metal.

Waiting for such a question Elder Taros answered politely, "While it's true that the door created with a huge stone, the same has been feeding on Vampire blood, which has high iron content, making the door ceases to be a simple stone and become something resistant, then by absorbing all the blood of the strongest Vampire century after century, the door strengthened, not only became stronger and able to recognize a master but also gained the ability of a thinking being, i.e. developed consciousness."

After the long explanation, Elder Tao, glanced sideways at little Mara, to see if she felt bored with the story, and got a pleasant surprise to see that her eyes were dazzling with curiosity, at the same time he realized that, she was listening attentively.

Seeing this, he continues to explain, "The rock was white, and around it was a mysterious mist, the door had golden patterns instead of red, but the color of the blood had been intense for it, until it became this way, by absorbing the blood not only the color but the texture and shape changed, the golden lines became red, the white door became black and its material evolved."

Taking a pause, he continued, "The TRUE Supreme Leader, fed the gate with her blood on a daily basis, but after she disappeared the following Supreme Leaders wanted to continue doing it, but the gate had an adverse reaction to all kinds of blood, that's why since then they did not dare to do it daily but wait for a new Clan Leader to take possession of the title."

"There are many stories that have written in the Clan Chronicles, so when the Ceremony is over, you'll have the right to read all the records, entries that the Leaders have made, we have lost count of how many have been the Leaders from then on, but you can read them all in there, even myself have no rights to read them."

Patiently explained Elder Taros, to the curious little girl.

"All right," replied little Mara.

'This Elder Taros explained a lot of things in a disorderly manner, if I can read the books in the library I can get a better understanding...' even though little Mara was paying attention to the Elder Taros, his way of explaining was all messed up. 'He is not a suitable teacher, I have to remember that.'

'Didn't Mommy said once, that 'the older you get, the wise you become?' then, why is this Elder like that?' continue little Mara with her thoughts, and after a shocking discovery she took a deep look at the Elder and asked herself, 'Did... did he lie about his age?'

*Wait, has he ever said his age to Mara?*

But she couldn't say anything about it to him, it might hurt his feelings.

When they were a few inches close to the door, they both fell silent, Elder Taros placed the dagger in a hidden crack in the door, penetrating the door, to which the door shook harder, and in what seemed like seconds to Mara and the Elder, was like an eternity to the rest.

A force absorbed completely the dagger inside the door; it was unknown how it could have happened, but it did. As it did so, the golden light surrounding the door abruptly disappeared and so did the movement.

Everyone thought it was over, when an authoritative presence covered the entire hall, making even the Council of Elders, vomit blood, the weaker vampires had to be protected because they were on the verge of death.

'This force was a hundred percent stronger than when Little Clan Leader Mara made Evan kneel before.'

Even Elder Taros knelt before such pressure, it was not because of the strength of it, but the solemnity and authority it carried.

'And to think that the Little Clan Leader's blood has such power, and it's only five drops, besides that, she had not gone through the awakened stage yet.'
