16 Ceremony [III]

The moment Evan knelt down she retracted her aura. Happy to have him at her height, so she could look directly into his eyes, without stressing her neck. But just as she was about to say something, she saw his expression, and didn't know what to say or do, and looking around her, she saw similar expressions.

Fear, Awe, Shock, many types of emotions that were the complete opposite of joy, speechless, she turned her gaze to the Elder, who was amazed, to see such a display of power. But not only that, what left him alarmed and stunned was that he could not identify what power it was that she had released.

That was not the simple aura of the Guardian or the aura of the energy cloud, it was something else, that caused him fear, his heart began to beat so fast, that his eyes began to show a little panic, his knees were shaking, Fear.

'I, an old Vampire who, in the present has no equal, was shaking with fear.'

And when he felt a gaze fixed on him, which made him feel a cold sweat, he turned his gaze, and the one he made eye contact with was Mara.

When he saw that it was her, he felt the hair on his body stand up, giving him shivers that went throughout his entire body, he wanted to avoid the look, but he took a deep breath and was able to control his emotions, which were in tumult, because of the Little Clan Leader.

'That guy sure knows how to choose his protégé...' The Elder thought in his heart... and then he himself becomes speechless because of that thought.

Mara was waiting for the Elder to say something, but she saw him taking a deep breath, regaining his emotions, to which she recollected what happened before. 'The power that came out of me... what was it? That was something very different from the warm cloud of my subconscious...' Confused by what was happening, she decided not to pay too much attention to it and put it aside from her mind.

So, in the end, she didn't pay more attention to the Elder and focus her eyes on Evan. "Why are you interrupting the Ceremony, Evan?" Little Mara, asked seriously, but with that tender face, that sweet voice, no one could believe that she was the one who made them kneel and vomit blood, the one who made them completely submissive to her. But being the lead actress, she didn't know or care about their thoughts.

Evan came to his senses and wanted to lash out at her, but remembering that pressure that made him kneel, apart from embarrassment, he felt his pride was trampled, but with a certain fear towards that 7-year-old girl, he didn't want to say much, so he just resigned himself to answer her.

"You're only, what, seven years old?

Why else would I be doing this?

You are not qualified to rule this clan of vampires."

He said with conviction and confidence, two or three vampires agree with him, but the rest just shook their heads.

"Oh? And who do you think would be better at leading? You? Sonia? Who?" said little Mara with scorn, no one had ever seen her behave that way, giving that kind of look to someone, seeing them with scorn, contempt.

Evan was petrified to hear her and the looks she gave him, made him feel even more humiliated. But before he could say anything else, he saw Mara raise her hand again to which he only made a move with his hand and the surrounding wind formed a whirlwind in front of Mara, and in seconds it disappeared, leaving the space where Evan was, empty.

The rest of the people present were stupefied. They did not want to comment on what happened, those who were on the floor, just got up, shook the invisible dust, and those who were trembling at the knees looked for the nearest seat to settle down and continue watching the Ceremony.

Mara observed those little details, and only breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that everyone was acting normal. For some reason she didn't want to be asked what happened, apparently, even she doesn't know what happened.

Seeing that everyone was calm and everything was back to normal, Mara returned her gaze to the Elder, "Now, we can get back to where we were." She said with a serene expression.

But the Elder was so amazed, he couldn't get back to himself in a couple of minutes. Still in the same position that was before Evan left.

Mara didn't mind waiting, neither did the rest of the people present. So, when the Elder came to, she was in front of him giving him a sweet and innocent smile. Leaving the Elder confused. Where is the powerful presence? Was it an illusion that came out of her?' Carefully observing the little girl in front of him, with a sweet smile, he decided to let it go.

After all that happened, it left a slight fear in his heart, and his instinct tells him, that she is not only the reincarnation of that person but of someone else? Or have they been always the same soul?

The guardian who was still in the Dungeon, sitting on his coffin, suddenly opened his eyes and pumped blood. He turned pale in a second. "Impossible, her aura is stronger than mine..." (Narcissistic, Rolling eyes...)

"How can that be possible?" He asked as if he could get an answer, but what awaited him was silence.

"..."

"Hmm, is... is it possible that it's like… the legend said?" Stunned, alarmed, it could see as well slight hints of panic in his eyes.

Taking a deep breath, he closes his eyes one more time.

>>>Returning to Mara...

Mara didn't know what was going through her Guardian's mind, but even if she did, she couldn't help, because she herself didn't fully understand what was going on, the aura she released, was something she did out of instinct, nothing else.
