5 The Woman in Red

Before Da Xia they got to the wooden house, trumpets and drums began growing louder. The sounds of horses galloping grew closer and residents lined up beside the roads among way for the royal people. Wu Zhou gave Jia Yi an irritated look and sighed, "Food? We can always eat that next time."

Curious, Da Xia walked up to some nearby tall trees and watched from afar. There were people walking beside a royal carriage, playing instruments, telling residents to bow down before the "Prince," and ordering people around.

"What are they doing?" Da Xia turns around to ask them. Jia Yi goes over to Da Xia and watches the royal people pass by, "Who knows what they're even up to."

Wu Zhou looks up at the sky, "It's going to rain soon, we better hurry."

They all gathered to leave. At the house, Jia Yi began packing their stuff. Wu Zhou stood outside to keep guard. Beside the bed lied baby toys and clothing. Da Xia picks them up, "Is there a baby here by chance?" Jia Yi smiles, "My three year old son, Xie Xiao Jian."

Shocked, Da Xia questions, "So that must mean you have a husband too?!" Jia Yi laughs, "Of course! But they're visiting his grandmother at the moment, they'll be back soon. I have this jade amulet that allows my husband to find me wherever I am."

After packing up their belongings, they all left the wooden house. Wu Zhou looks at Jia Yi and Da Xia, "There's royal guards everywhere in the forest and into the villages, we'll have to walk through the roads."

Together, they walked over to the roads in the village and knelt down beside the residents.

Xue Qin looked out his window, wondering why he's here. Obviously, he was bored out. As the carriage passed by, he caught a whiff of something familiar. Immediately he yelled out to stop the carriage.

The residents began to feel uneasy, they bowed their heads down, not daring to even look at him in the face. As he walked down the residents, Jia Yi whispered, "Don't raise your head up, even if he asks." Da Xia nods her head and becomes wary.

Xue Qin stopped in front of Da Xia and stretched his arms to reach her, "Are you..by chance..—" "XIAO JIN!!" someone yelled out while running towards him. He pulled his arms back and looked at the person running towards him.

Da Xia's heart beat anxiously. Was that Xue Qin? It sounded like him, but his name wasn't called! Instead of Xue Qin, it was Xiao Jin?

The woman finally stopped running and hugged him, "I didn't know you were going to be here too? Are you also here to investigate about the rumors?"

Xue Qin crosses his arms, "Rumors? What rumors? I only came here to see how the residents were doing. There's a flooding in Fei Tian Village, so His Majesty sent me here to see if anything could go wrong since this village is nearby the disaster."

The woman sighed, "You haven't heard? Supposingly they said that the woman in red is back and alive! They felt her spiritual energy explode into the air!" Xue Qin didn't care about such supernatural thing, "Oh, is that so?"

Quietly the residents began gossiping to each other, some felt terrified, some felt relieved. Wu Zhou stared at the ground. Jia Yi looked over to him, "Are you alright?" Da Xia was confused, why was Wu Zhou like that? Is there something wrong with the rumor?

He recklessly stood up. Jia Yi's eye's widen in surprise, "Song Wu Zhou! Don't do that sit back down!" Xue Qin turns around to see what's the matter. The royal people then grabs Wu Zhou and forces him to bow in front of Xue Qin. Angrily, he looks up at Xue Qin with a calm yet aggressive tone, "What did you do to her..."

Xue Qin was in lost space, "Who?" Jia Yi begins worrying, what should she do to help? Da Xia only watched the scene, she did not want to get involved in other people's businesses. The residents gossiped even more.

The royal members yelled and hit Wu Zhou with their fists, "Show some respect for His Highness!!"

Wu Zhou didn't flinch while taking the hit, he spat blood out and continued angrily looking at Xue Qin. He took in a sharp breath and angrily shouted, "What did you do to Liu Wen Qiang?!!"
