The Wedding

   "Wake up, babe." I felt his soft lips against mine. His smile was the first thing I saw when I opened my sleepy eyes.

   "Aren't you excited?" I nodded and gave him a small smile as I glanced at the window and it was still dark outside.

   "It's our wedding so we should prepare early." He said and gave me more kisses.

   I took a shower and put on my bathrobe while Jester, my soon-to-be husband, prepared some pancakes for breakfast. We ate happily when my step-mom suddenly came inside our house.

My mother died when I was 5 years old due to cancer and after another 5 years, dad loved another woman. She was very nice and funny. They were very much in love with each other and nothing could make me happier that to see my dad finally smiling and laughing again so I accepted her. Now she's pregnant and the baby is going to be my step-brother.

   "Good morning dear. Finish your meal and we'll go at your cousin's boutique." Mom told me and kissed my cheeks, as she did to Jester, too.

   "Good morning mom." We both greeted. Her stomach is so big that looks like the baby would come out anytime now. I quickly finished my pancakes and brushed my teeth.

   "I can't wait to see you later." Jester said excitedly.

   He hugged me before mom and I left.

   "Hi Athena!" My cousin, Jamie, beamed as we stepped inside his boutique.

   "I can't believe this woman is getting married." Jamie teared up while cupping my face. He fanned his tears exaggeratedly then turned his back quickly.

   "Sit here girl and let me do your make up first." He said while pulling me.

   One of his employee opened the tv. It's on live news right now, showing the church where my wedding will take place.

   "Today is a very big day for the big time, international actress, Ms. Kyliene Athena Williams and a very successful businessman Mr. Jester Burgois. Despite both have the age of 18 years old being binded together-"

   "What nail color do you want?" Jamie asked.

   "Make it white and simple please." I gave him a big smile and he returned it to me.

   Like the news mentioned, Jester and I are still teenagers that is about to have our own wedding. It's to tighten up the bond of both of our company and besides we love each other so what's there to turn down the offer?

    After a couple of hours of polishing my nails, getting my make-up done and curling my hair, it was time for me to wear my huge gown.

   "Carefully." Jamie reminded his staff. Once I was wearing my gown, my cousin put the veil on my head.

   "You look beautiful." Jamie said and sniffed. I'm wearing a huge white gown topped with a really long veil and a 6 inches pair of heels.

   "Thank you." I said sincerely. He motioned his elbow towards me and we both came out of the dressing room. A lot of camera was aimed at me as my mother gently held my face.

   "My baby girl's all grown up." She said. Her tears are ready to fall down anytime. I held back mine, I wouldn't want the make-up to ruin my face just before I march down the aisle.

   Flashes of camera are everywhere as we make our way to the limo. I asked mom where dad is and she said he's already at the church.

   "I'll be going now." I told mom and Jamie. They waved me good bye as the car started to drive away.

   "You look perfect Mrs. Burgois." My driver, Manuel, said.

   "Thank you Mr. Manuel." I said. I felt chills and goosebumps ever since I stepped into this car. Mom said it's normal for a woman about to wed cause she felt it too until she arrived at the church.

   It's true though, I can see the church already my chills didn't go away. People are crowding outside of the church. This was supposed to be held in secret but someone we invited leaked the information after a week before the wedding.

   Suddenly I heard a loud scream. I glanced at the right side and saw a truck heading our way without slowing down.

   Then it crashed to our car and next thing I know is I became unconscious.

   "It's very heartbreaking that Ms. Williams got into an accident just before her wedding."

   Athena's step-mother turned the tv off and turned to look at the woman who'se sleeping peacefully in a hospital bed. There were lots of tubes sticking out her body.

   "She was almost at the church." Jester said and held her hand as he cried non-stop.

   "Please go home Mrs. Williams and take a rest. I will be staying here." He said and turned to look at the woman who looks more depressed than anyone. There were no more tears coming out of her eyes as she already cried non-stop for 2 days.

   She wouldn't say anything until Mr. Williams came in and persuade her to take care of her health first.

   It was 3 days ago when the wedding was about to be held. Athena had lots of surgeries and now she's in a coma.

   "Baby, please wake up." Jester said and gently rub Athena's hand.
