24 The Coming Of A New Age

" What... DID YOU DO?! " Gaea shrieked in exasperation as she stared dumbfounded at her primordial brother.

" I send you to do one quest! ONE! And now you come back with a crown of feathers on your heads and a Titan King in your stomach!! " She yelled in indignation.

Said Hydra was just staring blankly at her with one head, the other four were just enjoying the blooming nature around them. The Hydra was temporarily staying around an unmarked island in the middle of nowhere that Gaea suggested they live. The island was expansive, and offered plenty of beautiful sights and even a protection formation from Gaea herself to hide them from prying eyes; the Hydra couldn't do general magic after all, that was for lower beings.

The Earth mother had grown quite close with the Chaos born these past few years, developing a true sibling relationship. Despite her pettiness and sometimes manipulative personality, her new brother had really grown on her, especially since this one wasn't Ouranos.

She and her other primordial siblings were on speaking terms, but they weren't really interested in becoming close. And the other primordial she was closest with that was not dead and in itty-bitty pieces was Nyx, and she was more focused on her own children and family.

" Look at me when I'm talking to you! Do you even understand the implications your actions carry?! I sent you to fix fate, not almost doom it again! " She scolded harshly.

" It. Was. Not. Our. Fault. He. Was. So. Annoying. " They reasoned.

" And. Yes... We. Know. Of. The. Consequences. Of. Our. Actions. " The beast continued.

" And?! " Gaea chided expectantly.

" Hisss... We. Will. Deal. With. It. " The Hydra agreed to accept responsibility, it also might be entertaining, who knows? Gaea had droned on and on about how their actions would spawn many anomalies that could possibly derail the general timeline, and as the new Keeper of Time as well as the child of Chaos, it was their sacred duty to fix and protect it.

" Sigh... Well get going then, the fate of the world isn't gonna fix itself... or at least it doesn't seem to be planning too. Whatever, just know that I'll be here for when you come back, someone needs to keep you in check after all. " Gaea said resigned. She did have a little smile on her face though, but just barely.

" We. Understand. " And so with a puff from their snout, they turn towards the ocean and set off. Through their new divinities, they could feel the general location of these anomalies. Although they had gained the domain of time though, it did not reign as equal, for Chaos was above it. It was more like an uncovered subsidiary branch of divinity.

--- An Uncountable Amount Of Years Later, Mount Olympus ---

" Prometheus... In all these years, you have served us well. So now I, Zeus, give you your first task. You must create new life, one that us Divine can rule and guide. Shape them from the Earth and set them on the path of life. " From his mighty throne, Zeus the new King of the Gods sat with an air of dominance and power.

He had become the new Sky Father of the new Olympian pantheon, after having drew lots with his three brothers to decide their kingdoms. He drew the longest straw, and was given rule over the boundless sky, it was like fate it seemed.

As for why they decided to create a new lifeform, it was simply because they wished to do so. Life as an immortal being was quite boring, so every pantheon had decided they wanted a new kind of being that they could rule and dominate over as well as nurture, love and impart their knowledge to. It was a myriad of desires, but it was evident that most if not all Gods agreed to this idea.

So, each pantheon had decided on creating them. The Olympians had decided they would create them first, and that the other pantheons would also make their versions of them before also following in what the Olympians made. In other words, each pantheon would have a set of unique races they would rule over, but the one the Olympians made would be present in all parts of the world and in every Godly territory.

" Understood! Your Majesty. " Prometheus exclaimed in jubilance. He had always wanted to do this task, and he already had ideas too! He had been dreaming of this day since ages, as he had been entranced by the idea ever since he had heard of it in the works.

Prometheus himself was a tanned young man, with bronze hair and a modest beard. He was fit and tall, as if made by the most skilled of artisans. He was shorter than most Titans, but still towered over most of the Olympians.

" Oh, and before I forget! My daughter Athena will be assisting you in this matter. Now, get going, I have things to do. " Zeus waved him away inconsiderately, the King himself thought the idea was interesting, but he was not as taken with the idea as much as the others.

" Of course, Milord. " He said as he turned and walked out of the colossal doors of the throne room. Mount Olympus was beautiful, far from the budding camp it used to be, now it was a fully developed fortress that dwarfed everything around it.

' Athena, huh? I hope she is as serious about this as I am. ' Prometheus thought. He had only seen the young Goddess a few times when he sparsely attended the frequent banquets the Olympians enjoyed so much. He had heard about her though, apparently she was extremely brilliant, and that she had emerged from the cracked head of Zeus himself fully matured and with a complete set of armor. She was one of, if not, the most favored child of Zeus.

He had arrived at one of the lobbies of Olympus. The mountain had many such open balconies and lobbies, it was a fortress on the outside, and a godly residence designed for comfort on the inside.

He looked out into the sky, and thought about the future prospects of this new race of beings. He dreamed of their infinite potential. He was so excited for this! The Gods weren't very easy to make friends with, especially with his blood. But he hoped that he could nurture and teach them like kin. He even had a name for them already, he had decided long ago that he would call them -

" Humans. " He whispered as he stared at the tranquil horizon.
