Adonis (1)

ADONIS' POINT OF VIEW:

*During the ball*

As I was drinking some kind of beverage that I do not know what it was called, I saw someone enter the ballroom.

Her wavy hair was flowing and had a few accessories. She wore a light pink ball gown that suits her skin perfectly. Her beautiful eyes were looking straight, and she was lifting her chin a little as she walked inside gracefully.

I understand why a lot of people were staring at her. After all, who wouldn't be stunned by her ethereal beauty?

A man approached her, and it looked like he was asking her for a dance. They were speaking with each other for a bit, but Krishiella continued walking, which means that she must have rejected that man.

I put my drink on top of a table and fixed my clothes and hair. I cleared my voice and practiced my smile before walking towards her.

I saw Ethan speaking to her, which made me wonder what their relationship could be. How do they know each other?

"Lord Ethan Reynolds," I called Ethan as I approached them. "Lord Adonis Castiello," Ethan said as soon as he saw me and bowed his head. I looked at Krishiella and pretended that I did not see her there. "Oh, you're here, Princess?" I said as I acted surprised. "Is it that odd that I'm here at my home, Lord Adonis?" Krishiella said as she raised her brow. Haha, there's that side of her again. Her facial expressions really amuse me. "No, it's not like that. I just thought that it's odd that you're here, when it looks like you haven't dressed up for the ball," I said and smirked at her.

Good heavens! How I love teasing this woman, haha!

"Oh, I feel the same way towards you, Adonis. What you're wearing looks like... pfft..." She eyed me from head to toe as she smiled at me mockingly, "... a rag," she continued.

I was about to say something, but Ethan stood between us and said, "Lord Adonis, what might your business be?" I took a peek at her before facing Ethan and said, "I just wanted to greet you. We haven't seen each other for a long time, you know." Well, that was partly true. I haven't seen Ethan in ages, but the main reason why I went here was for Krishiella and I just happened to see him talking to her. Which reminds me...

"How do you know the princess, Ethan?" I asked as I looked at Krishiella once more. Ethan chuckled and said, "Speaking informally, huh?" I shrugged and said, "Why, of course. We've been friends for a very long time." We are friends, so what's the big deal if we speak to each other this way?

"Well, I met the princess just now and we somehow felt a spark between us," Ethan said and turned to Krishiella to wink at her.

Huh? What the hell is he saying? Why would there be a spark between the two of them? This jerk must be out of his goddamned mind.

I raises my brow and looked at Ethan from head to toe. There's no way there would be a spark between them. No way.

Ethan turned to look at me again, and I changed my facial expression back to what it was before so he can't read my thoughts from my facial expression.

"Oh? A spark, you say? The princess and I felt a spark between the two of us ten years ago, too," I said, trying to compete with him. If there was a spark between the two of them, then ours is a lightning. I would never lose, hah. She looked at me with disgust and said, "What spark? You mean a battle of nerves has sparked between us, Adonis." She rolled her eyes and I could only chuckle because she looked way too adorable. "You're still as hot-headed as ever, Krishiella," I said as I chuckled.

She pushed Ethan aside and stepped closer while glaring daggers at me. "Excuse me? I am definitely not hot-headed. You are just way too annoying, that you have caused a drastic change to my attitude," she said as her eyebrows scrunched. "But isn't that a good thing? It's a good thing to feel another type of emotion from time to time, right?" I said and smiled. "Ugh, whatever! You irritate me," she said and walked out.

"Where is she going?" I said to Ethan as I chuckled. She really is hot-headed. Ethan just shrugged as his eyes followed Krishiella.

Does he like her?

"Please excuse me, I have to go somewhere," he said and left me standing alone.

He followed Krishiella...

"S-So what if he likes her? What is it to me, then?" I said to myself and laughed.

Whatever. It's none of my business whether he likes her or not. Why should I care?

...

Ugh! I'm going after them.

As I walked towards them, Krishiella was already walking away, while Ethan was just standing and not following her.

Before I passed by, I glanced at Ethan once again, and he was looking at Krishiella's back with a serious look on his face.

What the hell is wrong with him?

I kept following Krishiella, and even walked inside the maze just to follow her.

Why would she go here?

"This is way too painful!" I flinched as I heard her scream while sobbing. I hid behind the bushes to hide my presence from her.

What happened to her?

She sat on the concrete floor, hugged her knees, and rested her forehead on top of her knees as she cried.

I genuinely want to know why she's crying. I could feel my chest throb as I watch her cry with no one to console her.

If I went to console her... would she even welcome me?

I sat on the cold concrete and looked up at the starry night sky as I waited for her to finish crying. I... I know she hates me and that's why I can't even do anything right now even if she's in that state. My presence might even make things worse.

She kept crying for several minutes, until she had finally calmed down. She wiped her cheeks, stood up, took deep breaths, and smiled. She then kept walking around, and I was so confused because she kept coming back to the spot where she was crying earlier. It's like she's walking around circles.

Is she... lost?

I bit my lower lip and covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing.

The Imperial Princess doesn't have a good sense of direction, haha!

I saw another person, so I hid myself more thoroughly so he wouldn't see me too. "Princess?" He said as he approached Krishiella. She turned around and called out his name. "Noah!" The man who was called Noah was scrunching his eyebrows as he looked at her. "What are you doing here, and alone at that?

"U-Um... Well, I thought I needed some fresh air, so here I am..." She replied and smiled awkwardly. "... lost, and can't find my way back," she continued.

Noah chuckled as he put his palm over his face. "Don't worry, I got you. I know my way around this maze," he said after he laughed. Krishiella lowered her head and said, "Thank you."

"Would you like to hold my hand, Princess? It would be a problem if you get lost again." I flinched as he said those words.

Ho-Hold his hand?! Who's gonna hold his hand? Krishiella?

I took a peek to see if she accepted his offer, and my whole world seemed to crumble as I witnessed her putting her hand on top of his.

This... is so unfair.

I want to stay beside her, too. I want to hold her hand and embrace her in my arms. But I know that would be impossible because...

...she hates me.
