Sky bit her lip and nodded as her hands fisted. 

      "You don't want to be claimed?" Dain asked in a soft voice. Sky looked up at him and saw his eyebrows were lifted in the center. Sky grimaced and looked down again. 

      "Sky's only experience with mating was witnessing her mother's. Her father, Sir Cristoff, did not treat either of them well." Sky snorted. 

      "I can count on one hand the number of memories I have of my mother where she wasn't bedridden." 

      "You know not all matings are like that though, right?" West asked. Sky shrugged.
