First Night Stand

Serafina Gold was born into misfortune. A gambler mother, an alcoholic father, useless siblings—the odds were stacked against her from the start. She had thought that once she graduated high school, she could escape her family’s claws. Sick and tired, she wrote a letter to one of her family’s debtors, filled with complaints and curses. She never expected to get a response! One day, a golden letter came in the mail. An invitation to meet with the infamous ‘Black Mamba’ at midnight. A man with sharp golden eyes and a smug smirk, his steel nametag reading ‘Lucretius Asper’ — the youngest CEO in the country and the addressee of her letter. As if a serpent from Eden, he offered her a solution to all her problems, with only one catch: he wanted her, body and soul. It was an offer she couldn’t refuse. And just like that, in the span of one blazing hot night, she had fallen into his hands. — “I like you,” Lucretius said candidly. “Sleep with me.” Serafina was frozen in place by his demanding stare. He seemed to think that it was a given that she would agree. When she finally found the nerve to shake her head, he tsked like she had disappointed him, then took a step closer. Bam! His hand slammed down on the wall beside her, keeping her pinned under him. “A million dollars.” His lips quirk into a smirk. “I’ll cover any expense, pay off all your loans. All you have to do is give yourself to me. Is that so hard?” — Lucretius was boredly sorting through his mail when he saw the ratty envelope tucked between the endless piles of fan letters. When he opened it, he expected it to be addressed to the wrong person. Instead, he found endless curses, all directed at him. “...Heh. This should be interesting.”
