"Father, it's the best of both worlds. Besides, didn't you think about it? Our family doesn't have sons, only daughters. If I marry that Eunuch Dongfang Mo, not only will Dongfang Mo have no children, but the Xi family will have no children as well, right?"

Xi Muxue saw that her father was still deep in thought, so she continued to present her arguments.

He nodded and glanced at Mu Ru.

He calmly said, "Then, it's settled. Mu Ru, you will go and marry Dongfang Mo on behalf of your sister, Mu Xue."

When Mu Ru heard this, she felt the air around her turn cold instantly. She could not help but turn her pleading gaze to her mother, Du Xinyue, who was sitting on the sofa.

Du Xinyue, who had been sitting silently by the corner, finally spoke. She was quite confused. She said, "But the one who was arranged to marry Dongfang Mo six years ago was Mu Xue, right?"

"I know that," their father answered.

"So what do we tell the Qin family?" Du Xinyue asked her husband.

Xi Yuancheng was able to give a definite answer.

"The Qin family fell from power four years ago. We don't even know where they moved to after that or where they are now. They've probably become commoners long ago. It's unlikely that they will come to us to fulfill some marriage contract."

Du Xinyue looked at her youngest daughter, Mu Xue, and realized that what her husband said made sense.
