1 Chapter 1: A Beginning in Shanghai

In a distant country in Europe. Romina, a 13-year-old girl had finished packing her suitcase, a long journey awaited her. Romina is about to leave her hometown to move to the other part of the world specifically to Asia. Romina is excited by the idea of it because she always dreamed of seeing new places and their corresponding cultures. Romina did not have a mother, at least she had not met her since she left to never return when she was very young. Romina opened the last remaining drawer to get her favorite markers when suddenly her father entered her daughter's room and stood staring at Romina. "My little angel, you are not going to need those markers, in China I will buy you some new markers," Romina's father exclaimed with affection towards his daughter. - I know, it is difficult for me to get away from my friends Tobias and Jan as well as Katrin and Nina, I will miss my friends but they are things that happen in life and I was also the person who told you, Papa if you can't find a job you can also look for work outside of Hamburg because I would like to travel, I love my friends very much but I want you to have a good job, I want you to be happy - Romina exclaimed with great affection towards her father and ran to give him a hug. Romina's father received the hug warmly. - You will see that you will make many new friends in Shanghai and learn a new language, I will be very busy at the office but I will take you from time to time to the playground when I have time, we will go buy you new toys and soon you will start a new life, you mother will be watching you from the sky and she will be very proud of you, you are a very intelligent girl for your age and you will see that you like China - exclaimed Romina's father with enthusiasm. - I know, I do not consider myself a girl because I am 13 years old, soon I will be older and I will have my first love in Hamburg or Shanghai but I will have it - exclaimed Romina with the enthusiasm of falling in love one day. -You are still too young for it, I am sure that when you find someone special like I met your mother, have faith -said Romina's father with much affection and positivity towards her daughter. Romina passed her favorite markers one by one on the side of the suitcase and then closed the lid of the suitcase. Romina's father approached the suitcase and zipped the suitcase and then moved his feet like the suitcase at the same time to the door of Romina's room which borders the hallway of the Hamburg apartment. - Dad I know that now we have to go downstairs so as not to be late to the airport but I have not said goodbye to my stuffed animals, first I have to say goodbye to them - Romina exclaimed innocently. Romina's father looked at her watch and saw that they still had a few minutes of time before the taxi arrived. - My little angel, you can say goodbye to your stuffed animals, I will buy you new stuffed animals in China - Romina's father exclaimed with enthusiasm for the trip to a new country. -Goodbye Mr. Teddy Bear, Goodbye Mrs. Puppy, Goodbye Mrs. Cat, Goodbye Mr. Mouse, Goodbye Mrs. Rabbit, Goodbye Mr. Bird, "Romina exclaimed sadly as she said goodbye to each of her stuffed animals. Romina's father looked at the clock again and realized that it was time to get off the taxi, which had not yet reached the corresponding street but would be about to arrive. "My little angel, we have to go, it is time, the taxi will arrive at any moment," Romina's father exclaimed with enthusiasm for being about to leave a lifetime behind to begin a new stage of her life. "Okay, I'm going dad right now," Romina exclaimed with obedience and respect towards her father and later she moved towards her suitcase. Romina's father looked at his daughter in amazement. Romina took her suitcase and she was willing to carry the suitcase alone until she got to the taxi, however her father did not leave her. - No, Romina, you shouldn't make that effort - exclaimed Romina's father with responsibility. - but why not? I am old enough to carry my own suitcase, I am not a girl, I can carry my own suitcase without help-exclaimed Romina with a sense of humor although she did not refer to humor, her father considered it that way. - Romina, I will take your suitcase because although you consider yourself older, you are only 13 years old and you will only start the following week at the institute in Shanghai when you will live your first day of institute there, it will be very exciting for you and I want you to be rested Because while your father is here taking care of you, you will know that you do not have to worry about anything, your father carries your suitcase, it is the duty of every father - Romina's father exclaimed with great affection towards his daughter. - Thank you Dad, you are very kind and I am very lucky to have a father as good as you but now we should not continue talking because time is counting and the taxi will not wait for us, much less the plane will wait for us, I want to go to China, I want to to meet someone there, I would like to fall in love with a boy from high school - Romina exclaimed enthusiastically but she is beginning to think something hasty for her age because most girls of that age think of playing with dolls when Romina thinks of her dream wedding in a huge castle. - Do not rush too much, you are still very small, I want you to study, you have time to fall in love but I only give you permission to fall in love with a boy when you are 18 years old, before I forbid you - Romina's father exclaimed with a serious look. "Papa," Romina exclaimed in a plaintive tone of voice. - There are no excuses, those are the rules, you know what happens when you don't obey me - Romina's father exclaimed seriously. - Yes, I know, you get angry with me and don't let me see cartoons on television - Romina exclaimed with sudden sadness. - Do not be sad, being without watching television is very good so you will have more time to review the study contents not only when there is an exam but every day, especially on weekends and thus you will be the best in the class and I you will be very proud, being the father of the smartest girl in the class is an honor for every father - exclaimed Romina's father with affection towards his daughter. Romina heard a noise from outside, it was the whistle of the taxi. "The taxi has arrived, let's get down," Romina exclaimed with great enthusiasm and she quickly ran down the hall until she reached the door that borders the exterior of the apartment, which borders the stairs of the building. Romina's father took the two suitcases; his suitcase and his daughter's suitcase. Romina's father opened the door, held it while Romina left the apartment and subsequently ran down the stairs. Romina's father yanked the door shut and carefully lowered the two suitcases down the stairs because that floor is one of the few floors without a lift in Hamburg. Romina reached the front door and waited patiently for her father while she looked at the walls of the building. Romina's father finally came down all the stairs with the two suitcases in his hands, which is dangerous. Finally Romina's father opened the front door, held it while Romina went out the front door and ran to the taxi that was waiting for them. Romina's father yanked the door open and quickly walked over to the taxi. The taxi driver got out and first opened the door for Romina who must have sat in the back. - I don't want to sit in the back, I want to go in front like Papa - Romina exclaimed insistently. "You can't, there's not enough space," the taxi driver exclaimed quickly. Romina got inside the taxi, she finally sat in the back of the taxi with her arms crossed and a face that reflected her anger. Romina's father did not say anything about it because he knows his daughter and he knows that she is much more intelligent than girls her age, although sometimes he behaved in a spiteful way in question that if he could not have what he wanted, he would protest with the crossed arms sign. The taxi driver closed the door of the taxi in which Romina was approaching and Romina's father opened the left door of the taxi, held it while he entered and let it close abruptly while the taxi driver put the two suitcases in the trunk. The taxi driver later closed the trunk and returned to the right side of the taxi in which the car's steering wheel is located. The taxi driver inserted the key, held his foot covered by his shoe on the pedal, and put his hands on the steering wheel to exit the parking lot on that street and drive towards the airport. Romina did not speak a single word in the taxi and neither in the plane until finally arriving after a long trip of many hours to the Shanghai airport in which they took another taxi, which Romina's father requested at the airport in Shanghai. Romina still did not speak until she reached the front door of the building in which she is her new apartment and her home in a skyscraper twenty-six stories high and the latest architecture.
