14 One Simple Girl As Her

Sawing Isla excited face, Lawrence was lightened up and he was smiling on the inside. Then he sat beside her.

"Yes. The guardian angel is here. So what?" He teased Isla.

Though Lawrence was popular among girls at their school, he never dated any of them. Many beautiful girls asked him out all the time; some gave him many luxurious gifts; but no one had win over his heart. Even though he was popular, handsome, rich and a top student; he was good to everyone. But he was smart enough to draw a clear line between himself and the girls who liked him.

Isla never noticed that the way Lawrence behaved when he was with her was different. He was always carefree and smiling around her all the time. He joked around her and always make her laughed. He was so devoted to her. He always noticed whenever she had a problem and always helped her out.

Though Lawrence thought that he knows all about Isla, he was wrong. He was unaware of the fact that Isla loved someone deeply for the past two years.

"Hey! Did you tail at me? Why do you always know when I'm alone and bored?" Isla stood up, putting her hands on her waist. She lowered her eyes and gazed at Lawrence, who was sitting right beside him. She looked at him as if she was suspicious of him.

Lawrence sweet smile and carefree face turned darkened. Actually he was looking for her as soon as he reached school. He eventually saw her entering the garden. He knows very clear that whenever Isla visits the school garden, she will sit at the shade of the banyan tree. Did she find out that I followed her here? He was nervous and gulping.

As she saw Lawrence expression, Isla howled and pointed him with her fingers. "There you go again! Why do you always look so nervous?" Again she sat beside him.

Lawrence forced a smile. "Hey! Will you stop teasing me?" He said with a serious face.

"Hmph! Look who's talking about teasing. You are the one who teased me first. Also, will you stop looking at me with such a serious face? People will think that I steal your money!" Isla bursted out again in laughter as soon as she finished her words. "But you look cute with that expression." She teased Lawrence, once again.

"Lawrence looked displeased. "Don't always say I'm cute. Did you forget that..."

"You're my one year senior. I'm well aware of that." Isla finished the words for Lawrence.

Lawrence crossed his arms and looked at Isla, shooking his head. "You're hopeless!"

Though Lawrence looked annoyed and displeased; he actually enjoyed. He loved to see Isla laughing in a carefree attitude. He loved how Isla teased him and made fun of him because he knew that Isla was a shy and reserved girl. He waited a long time for her to be this open to him.

Every action and reaction of Lawrence made Isla laughed so much. Tears even came out from her eyes due to her nonstop laughing.

The scene of Isla and Lawrence chatting and laughing together happily was watched by someone from a far. It was none other than August. He was infuriated and was full of jealousy. His eyes were like the flame of a fire. He clenched his fist so tightly. He seemed to be ready for any fight like an injured wild animal fighting for his life.

Though August looked like a fierce tiger from the outside, he was groaning on the inside. He felt as someone was ripping his heart before his own eyes. It hurt so much that he felt like he was burning alive. He was devastated.

To add a fuel to the fire, a girl was approaching him. She was Scarlett, who cursed at him before. "I know for sure that this day will come. But I don't expect it to be so soon!" Scarlett glanced at the happy scene right in front of their eyes and she chuckled.

"What day?" August asked, staring at Scarlett ferociously.

"The day your heart will be broken, like you had done to many girls." Scarlett sniggered.

August snickered, but soon underwent a 360° changed in his face as he stared Scarlett with a serious and dreadful attitude. "Broken hearted? Who? Me? Never in a million years! I can have any girl I want. I'll never be broken hearted just because of one simple girl as her!" He declared.

'He didn't even know his own feelings. What a foolish boy!' Scarlett thought to herself.

She shifted her eyes to the happy scene and smiled with a devilish smile. "Everyone at school knows that Lawrence like Isla. Judging by the current situation, I have a feeling that they are finally together. They are perfect for each other, both a top student. Besides Lawrence is rich and kind, plus he's also his class president. He's better for Isla than you."

Once again, Scarlett words were like a thorn for August. He glanced at her with his sharp eyes and walked away.

Scarlett really enjoyed the scene. She loved to see August suffer; because she holds a grudge against him for disrespecting her. She smirked and left the school garden.

Isla and Lawrence were still chatting happily without knowing what happened at the other side of the garden.

"Isla, you're so sly! How come you exceeded me in the last exam?" Lawrence asked Isla, jokingly.

"Hmph! How can you call me sly for getting better grades than you? Then how about you? How come you get lower marks than me?" Isla asked him back, looking curious.

"I'm behind by only 1%. You scored 98% and mine is 97%. My marks are better than before. It's you who stabbed me behind my back." Lawrence pouted and looked at Isla. "Besides someone ignored all my calls and messages during exams, so I was unable to concentrate." He added.

Isla she knew right away that Lawrence was talking about her. She ignored all calls and messages of her friends during her exams, including Davina and Celine.

Isla acted as if she didn't understand what Lawrence said. She tried to pissed him off. She always did before because she loved seeing his reaction. "Who is brave enough to ignore your call? But I think we have the same reason. I did better than before because I ignored someone during our exam. In order to not think about someone, I studied like crazy!" Isla said without thinking much.

Isla came to her sense and realized what she just said. Rather than pissing him off, she just declared her secret to him. Am I crazy? Why did I say such things to Lawrence?

She wished Lawrence didn't understand what she just said. But he was not a fool, he understood clearly. "Someone? Did you have someone on your mind?" He asked, looking nervous.

As Lawrence already understood what she said, Isla didn't want to lie to him. She valued him just as she valued Davina and Celine.

"Yes." She answered with a soft smile.
