3 Chapter 3

Humming as I fill up my cart connected to the horse, the sun came up a few hours ago. I will need to head to the dock, before going to see Rose and her baby. My father left before dawn again, I know he won't be back till tomorrow possibly. Hearing a rustling in the wood behind me, I frown. It was probably a rabbit. I yawn, tired from my lack of sleep. My cheek flushes remembering my dream.

"I need to get that out of my head," I say to myself.

"Lyanna!" I scream when Deya came out of the wood in a rush.

"Gods, you frighten me." I shake my head at her, "what's going on?" I ask when I see tears in her eyes.

"You need to leave!" She runs over to me, "now get on your horse." She shoves me so hard I almost fell.

"What's gotten over you Deya?"

"They think it's your fault, you have to leave now. Please, go before they get here." My heart races

"What happened?" I ask clueless

"Rose and her baby, they passed away last night," She cries. My eyes widened, covering my mouth with my hands.

"Oh no, what happened. How they were perfect when I left them." I frown, blinking away my tears. How could this happen?

"They say, they had a fever so high it burnt whoever touched them. Before they turned into nothing but bones, their flesh dissolved into nothing before turning into nothing but ash."

"Oh gods," poor Rose and that baby, that didn't sound normal.

"Lyanna, they say it was you. That you cursed them, they think you're a witch." Confused how they could believe I did something like that. "But I'm human, I would never hurt a soul," I whisper

"Oh Deya, tell me you don't believe them. Please Deya." I grab her hands, crying.

"Of course, I've known you since we were children Lyanna, I know in my heart you didn't do this. And Rose knows it too," I cry harder as she says that.

"Now go, leave before they get here. I will let your father know what happened. Go to the next town, it is a five days ride. Go there but don't stay long," I picked up my saddlebag, shoving some of the fruits and bread from my cart.

"Take care of my father for me, please. When I've found a place I will write to you and my father," I hug her.

"I will now go." She hugs me back hard. "I've always loved you like my sister Lyanna." She breaks away when she heard howling. They were here, getting on my horse. Crying, how this day turned. I go before I get there, heading the other way. Looking back at Deya, she took off into the woods. My teary eyes blocks my vision, as my horse took off into the deep woods. I don't make it too far when I see a black wolf at my side, I knew that wolf colour. It was Dan. I yank on the rein harder, in a flash I see the black fur slamming into my horse taking us both down. My horse screams in pain, the fall sends me flying. I hit the ground hard, dirt falling into my mouth. I gasp, not being able to breathe. Dan wolf comes into my vision, his teeth snarl at me. Another brown and grey wolf comes into view snarls at Dan, I knew they were communicating telepathically. Suddenly I was surrounded by at least ten wolves, Deya was here. She was snarling at all of them. Getting up slowly, I wipe the mud off my face. I watch them shift into their human form, I recognised most of them from town.

"The elders will decide her fate, you can't rip her like an animal!" Deya yells at Dan "they will decide her punishment" Dan wanted to kill me here and be done with it.

"I say we rip her limp from limp," a girl calls out chuckling.

"I didn't do it, I loved Rose. I would never do anything to harm her," I yell

"I saw the way you looked at my Rose and pub, you hated her. I've seen it in you eyes witch." Dan growls pushing Deya to the floor. Making his way to me.

"I'm not a witch, I'm a human please," his hands hit my face so hard I fell back down tasting blood.

"The day you came into the town, you cursed us. Our crop has been slowly dying and the animals, you work for the witches and demons!" An old man yells, kicking my head. My eyes roll back.

"I saw we burn her alive like we did back in the days to the witches!" Another voice calls out.

"Please, I'm just a human. I didn't do anything." I beg, crying out in pain. Someone's feet connect with my stomach and my eyes roll back once more before everything turned pitch black.
