3 Flaming Princess

((Y/n POV))

I remember how I unintentionally fell asleep outside after talking to Finn so right now I must be laying on the grass near Finn and Jake's tree house. But mostly my thoughts are awaken by a smell of something burning. Is it Jake's cooking? My eyes were half open and I see the sky with a hint of dark blue and orange, I assume it's 2 in the morning, the sun haven't risen yet.

But to my surprise I was surrounded by fire.. Though it is intriguing enough to see such flames appeared circling around me. Like a bonkers I am inspecting the fire instead of running away as fast as possible

"Who are you?! Speak!!" A flaming creature appeared in front of me while holding the neck of my shirt with its flaming hand.

"Woah woah woah Calm down. You must be Flame Princess, we were talking about you last night." I tried calming her but into my dismay she can't be budged.

"Who are you and why are you in front of Finn and Jake's house?" Anger is so obvious in her voice while her hair grew larger indicating a sense of danger. Is it possible for me to be roasted alive here?

"F.P wait! " I can hear Finn shouting from behind me. He's a hero after all, I'm sure he can't stand brutality such as me being roasted by his girlfriend. He's probably out to save the day.

"Finn care to explain why there is a girl near your house?" Flame Princess still have her grip on my shirt and I am certain the fire on her hand already caught the collar.

"Finn, I told you this would happen" I said with a plain look on my face. It's not scaring me but I don't wanna die burning like what I told Finn last night. Finn's staring at me as I tried escaping from the Flame girls grip.

"Finn explain!" Flame Princess demanded answers.

"You're so lucky to have her as a girlfriend Finn, imagine how many marshmallows you can roast wherever you go" I chuckled at the fact but this fire girl became more furious upon hearing my words

"FP . She's just a guest. Princess Bubblegum asked to watch over her as a prisoner" After Finn said that. She finally let me go. When I say 'let me go' it means pushing me hard to probably land on my butt.. Why does all the girls hates me? What did I do?

It's like watching an anime episode where a yandere girl gets a hold of a guy she likes. I'm currently watching it in front of me. Flame Princess sprinting towards Finn with puppy eyes and cute actions.

"Sorry Finn. I was just worried that she might take you away from me" Flame Princess said which is loud enough for me to hear from a distance. It almost sound like this girlfriend of his doesn't trust her boyfriend that much. She seem seriously in love yet a bit anxious cause of me.

After a minute of romantic conversations from the love birds, Flame Princess started reaching up to Finns lips with her eyes closed, Finn did the same thing. OMG is she gonna kiss Finn, not only that, she's also planning to hug him. Does she know Finns nature as a human?! She might burn him into a crisp especially with her high burning state!!

I ripped out a piece of my shirt and approached them in a hurry before it's too late.. I covered Finns lips with the blue cloth I have on hand.

"Y/n? What are you doing?" Finn's eyes are now open and with a questionable look . But before I could speak. One fireball was thrown at me, hitting me straight into the stomach and pushing me a few steps away from them.

"How dare you interrupt! You're trying to break our relationship, aren't you?!" Flame Princess continue to throw fire balls at me but I was trying my best to dodge all of them. Finn on the other hand was trying to stop Flame Princess. But how could he? He is a human either, touching Fire would burn his skin. Flame Princess pushed him away to the point where he bumped his head on a tree trunk and lose consciousness.

Jake finally entered the scene, protecting me from her flames but it leaves burns on his body. At this moment Flame Princess eyes were not normal anymore, she's hysterical.

"Jake take cover.. And please treat your wounds" Without my blue dress, my powers are weaker but it's still useful, right? Now is the time to know the answer.

"Die hindrance!" Flame Princess shouted upon creating a gigantic fireball on top of her palms.

"You know what Flame Girl. I think you're too selfish. Not thinking about Finns safety. Look at him right now! He's unconscious ! Plus look at his brother Jake! You burnt him! What else can your jealousy do ?! Kill an innocent girl such as me ?!" I said

She took a short glance at Finn and Jake as if she understood what I said and regret her actions but still she threw that huge fireball at me. I used my full strength to freeze it with my powers and it left Flame Princess screaming from pain.

"FP!!" I can see Finn waking up shouting her name as he approached the fire girl and hugging her leaving a slight burn on his body, her flames isn't as strong as before cause she's turning blue probably cause of my magic.

"She's an ice e-elemental" Flame Princess squirms.

I see so the fire she releases is still a part of her body huh? Meaning to say it's not convenient for her to use her powers if it actually kills her.. My eyes inspected the now frozen gigantic fire ball before I finally have the courage to unfreeze it. The fire soon disappeared automatically and Flame Princess was freed from the pain.

"Finn.. I'm sorry " Flame Princess apologized before running away into the woods . I see worry in Finns eyes. As if I can hear his heart breaking into pieces. He looked at Jake and I, like he was asking for approval. I knew what he means so I nodded . He understood and left running after his girlfriend.

After an hour of cleaning the mess outside, me and Jake returned to the living room but for some reason I can't stand the sight of Jake with those cuts and burns.

"Jake do you have any Medical kit here?"

"Oh yeah, it's in the cabinet upstairs"

This time I am obliged to help Jake. He did saved me a while ago, this is the only thing I could do in return.

I applied some ointment on his burns before covering them with bandages.

"Thanks Y/n"

"Can't believe Flame Princess would do that" Bmo said while holding a roll of bandages.

"Me either. She's probably anxious towards Y/n.. And jealous at the same time" Jake answered Bmo.

"I woke up seeing her in that angry state, I haven't done any single thing to trigger her. I don't understand why she's being jealous in the first place. Why would she be jealous? Me and Finn are just friends. Right Jake?" I said defending myself from doubts.

"I believe you Y/n. I've seen the entire thing. I was the one who woke Finn and Jake to stop the two of you" Bmo informed us. To think that these creatures cared about me, for the first time in my life someone cared well, besides mom. I guess in this world everything is possible.

"You guys.. Thank you for everything." I gave them a smile.

"Woah are you guys alright?" I questioned their expression right now. They look so stunned at the moment. What did i do this time?

"Yes we're alright Y/n. It's just the first time we ever seen you smile Y/n" Jake explained as he smiled in return before shifting his gaze towards the window.

"It's raining Oh I hope Finn is alright" Jake looked into the window where the raindrops blurred out the clear glass. He's right. It is pouring heavily outside.

"Maybe I should cook Finns favorite Bacon Pancakes before he returns" Jake said approaching the kitchen.

"Wait Jake . Rest here. I'll do the cooking." I offered some help since he is really not in a good condition to move around.

After I finished cooking and preparing the pancakes on the table, I heard the front door creaked open.

"Finn. You should come in and take a bath, you're soaking wet from the rain.. Anyways how is it with FP?" I heard Jake asked the boy but Finn is not giving any response.. He seem sad... I have this strong gut feeling I need to apologize so I went into the living room to see Finn.

Jake's right, he's soaking wet also he seem quite depressed looking at the floor boards without saying a thing..

"Uhmmm Finn? I'm so.." Before I could finish my words, he looked directly into my eyes.

"Y/n ... FP asked me to avoid talking to you" Finn said with an obvious sadness in his tone.

"I see" I answered.

"Wait Finn. I don't think that is quite right" Jake involved himself in the conversation.

"It's alright Jake. I understand. Finn really loves Flame Princess. He'll do anything for her.. Well.. And I owe you guys a lot. Don't worry Finn I will grant your girlfriends wish for the sake of your relationship" I said before heading towards my room, locking myself in.. I just knew them for two days so it didn't affected me that much but whenever I remember the talk me and Finn had last night, I can't seem to calm down.

"Y/n are you not joining us for dinner?" I heard Jake knocking on the door.

"Well I ate some slices while cooking, so I'm kinda full already. Thanks though"

"Okay Y/n if you say so but the food are here in case you get a little hungry" Jake informed me.

"Thanks again Jake"

Not sure what they're talking about outside my room yet I have a hunch Finn is explaining everything to Jake right now.. Surely I could find a safe place to live in? Since I don't think staying is a good idea.

((Jakes POV))

"Finn, I don't think that's a good request. Can't you talk more to Flame Princess about this? Y/n is our new friend right?"

"I already had a serious talk with her. I tried convincing FP that my feelings will only be hers but she ain't convinced at all. Also FP wants me to prove it by avoiding Y/n everywhere" he whispered into my ear.

"That's harsh man.. She's not being understanding. What do you feel about this though?" It seems like we need to whisper to each other for the whole conversation.

"I think it's wrong and i'm quite disappointed but I don't wanna lose Fp" I don't know why Finn is whispering though.

"Finn she won't know if you ever talked to Y/n secretly"

"Well about that"

A blue flame minion revealed itself from Finns bag and it seems like Flame Princess ordered it to watch over Finns action.

"OH GLOB! She's going bonkers" The words slipped on my mouth but no one's trying to destroy the scene even though I felt like Fp is watching everything using her minions eyes.

"Well Jake I must sleep. " Finn looks so lonely. I would like to bring his happy side back and the only way is to bring out his favorite hobbies.

"But Finn it's still early how about we start dungeon looting?!"

"Really?! Yehe-heah Let's go Adventure Time!" Finn shouted forgetting about his worries. That will suffice for a bit.

"Okay I will grab some stuffs. Wait here Finn" This time it would be great to clear friendship. Not sure why but whenever Finn is with Y/n, I can see happiness in his eyes, even at the time Y/n was imprisoned, it seems like he's amused about her in some way. I think that's a sign for a better friendship in the future. She might become Finns best friend. Who knows? Right now I can't let this new happiness to disappear just like that.. I need to think of a plan to bring them back together while not harming Fp's relationship with Finn somehow.

((Y/N POV))

I was laying down on the comfy bed admiring the light on the ceiling, thinking about what happened a while ago. I should have told Flame Princess that me and Finn ain't a thing, now I made things worst.. This annoys me. I don't know anything about relationships but I swear love ain't like that. She must be different or her mind is definitely not normal... No worries I still owe him for saving me back in the castle, although I can escape by myself but still he defended me to leave Princess Bubblegum's prison. Just wanted to help in return. Even if he ignores me from now on.

My thoughts were interrupted by knocks on the window. Really why is it coming from the window?.. Oh my gosh is it a ghost?! I hid myself under the blankets when I hear the window creaked open with a strong gust of wind entering the room.

"Go away ghost or I will freeze you to your second death.." I said in a not so loud tone.

"It's me Jake"

"Jake? Why are you not using the door? Is it better to go outside, shower in the rain and enter my room? Or is it Finn blocking my door, a reason why you can't enter.. Plus your wounds!"

"That's a lot of assumptions but no. Anyways I heal fast so Finn and I are going to have a dungeon adventure. You should come with us. I won't take no as an answer. We can't leave you here since we promised PB to watch over you"

"Well alright. I'll go" I don't have a choice anyway, also I wanna feel some fresh air even if it's raining heavily outside. I changed into my blue dress, just in case.

((After Preparations))

Me and Finn are sitting on a gigantic Jake.. Waiting to arrive in a dungeons entrance but seriously the silence is deafening. Finn is not in his usual self. Even Jake's expression said so. This human kept on staring in the wilderness with a blank thought plus he really is avoiding me 100%..

"Jake why is she here?" Even if Finn is whispering towards the dogs ear, the wind unintentionally brought the sound in my direction so I can hear every single part of it.

"Finn. Even if you don't treat her as a friend, she's still my friend. And as they say, friend needs to stick together in darkness and in light" Jake reminded Finn.

I was internally thanking Jake by now. He's pretty cool in his own way. And much understanding than humans could possibly be. I can understand why Finn's doing this though. Flame Princess cornered him in a spot where he don't have any choice but to obey or else he will lose FP for good.. I am not the only one who noticed the flame girls obsession plus manipulation, even Jake thought so.

"Yeah I guess , though it's making it harder for me to resist" Finn continue to whisper. Aww poor Finn he probably can't stand ignoring an amazing cool, hot n cold lady such as me mwehehe. I feel like my nose imaginatively grew longer as I praise myself.

"Guys welcome to Y/n's first dungeon adventure" Jake put us down in front of a huge cave and it left me dumbfounded, seeing how dark it was.

Jake sprinted inside with his now normal form , Finn then started entering the dark cave either.. How can these two be awesomely brave? What if there are ghosts in there?! What if Sadako or the grudge was lurking around the corner to take us with them?!

Nope no no no. I can't be giving up now.

I followed behind Finn. My eyes kept shifting from side to side as if I was preparing for a jump scare or so.

Soon a light coming from Finn's bag help us through our path, but still it's kinda dark.

Still trying to convince myself that there are no such things as ghost in this cave yet I ended up failing to lift my courage up, after hearing some crunching sounds from the back.

"Ah!" I screamed closing my eyes shut as I started holding onto whatever is near me. Hugging it ever so tightly.

That's when I feel a slight pat on my head so I opened my eyes to see what it was.

It was actually Finn calming me down.. To think I was actually hugging his arm... My embarrassment started bothering me. Yet I'm a bit thankful he's not that cold no matter how silent he may be.

"Sorry Finn" I let his arm go and continue walking forward.

"This is the first obstacle guys" Jake announced showing us two doors.

"Anywas I'll go on ahead , I can take the left door alone since I have night vision like any other magical dog has plus I can beat their buns without any ones help"

"But Jake" Finn complained.

" My idea sounds convenient so listen. Finn you should protect Y/n. You too Y/n, protect Finn. Both of you take the door to the right. If one of you bump into trouble, the other one will help. Just help each other. Bye!" After Jake finish his instructions he entered the door he designated himself into..

Luckily Finns bag lights the way so we can see a few objects ahead of us. The tunnel felt cold but the cold never bothered me anyway, what I'm worried about is Finn.

Soon we caught a glimpse of what seem to be a burning altar, way to bring back Flame Princess in our mind.. Geez..

"It seems like the treasure is there" I said to inform Finn since he's not stepping any further.

The dragon like decoration attracted me so much yet the red bracelet on top of is way more attractive, I wanted to see it so badly but Finn is approaching the altar first.

That's when I noticed the dragon's eyes glow red. My feet immediately brought me towards Finn, pushing him away from the dragon but it's useless cause the glow from the dragon's eyes consumed the whole tunnel for a minute..

"Finn are you alright?" I checked Finn who is now laying on the cold ground.

Can't hear any response but the moment I tried pulling him up, I felt the temperature in his body being abnormally hot. Does he have a fever?

I placed his head on my lap to calm him down a bit, my cold temperature might help.

"Finn?! Y/n?! What happened" Jake probably came running after he saw that weird light.

"Oh my glob. I fear this might happen. I forgot to inform both of you about that dangerous dragon! I really thought the door to the left leads to that bracelet... Maybe I got confused about the directions again. "

"What will happen to Finn?" I asked worried of Finns current state yet what Finn caught is not familiar to me. It seems so extraordinary especially when his skin turns a bit red.

"It's called the Burning Death illness! It is when an endless low flames consumes a creatures spirit. I once read it from a scroll and I take a liking to it so I memorized every single word."

Jake luckily remember the whole thing, Im glad. It sounded promising but I don't quite get it.

"Lets bring back to the tree house" Jake carried us back to their home and placed Finn on the sofa. I tried using my ice magic to cool up the place yet he's still the same. The heat must be in his body, like a fever but worse.

"Y/n , remember the scroll? I remember what it means"

"What does it mean Jake? Is it about having a fever or does Finn have to beat up the dragon for it? I'll probably freeze the dragon and use his meat to make sushi! Argh I'm gonna fudging roast that sushi!"

"Good idea but no Y/n . The scrolls poem means. The person who have seen the power of the Burning Death have an experience he regrets yet he can never forget, it burns him deep inside. The only cure is to find what he regrets and connect them together" Jake explained.. Don't tell me it's about..

"Flame Princess" We both said in unison.
