Elise just broke up with her three year boyfriend after having a talk with him - if it would be even considered a talk. When she asked him if he has plan for them, he answered no. So, even when she knew it would hurt, she let him go. She wasn't ready for a relationship without any plan. She was heartbroken because the guy she started to date was someone who made a lot of promises with her, someone who has a lot of plans. But he was gone. And maybe so was the old her.
