30 Will's Makeup

"Cut! Great work everybody! Let's call it a day!"

Everyone comes to us to take pictures with the flowers they were given.

I try to make an excuse for Will to go back to his trailer but he insists on taking pictures with everyone that wants one. I have everyone form a line and take pictures. He photographs well. It's too bad that he doesn't smile. After about 30 minutes, I see that Johnny also stood in line.

"Why, I do declare. I didn't think you were the type of man who was a fan of Will."

"Actually, I was hoping to take a picture with you," he mumbles shyly.

I'm floored for a second but recover. I can't believe someone would want to take a picture with me. This ornery man continues to surprise me.

"I'll take one with you if you take one with me."

"Fine. I don't know how to work this thing anyways. The grandkids gave it to me."

He hands his phone to Will.

"Do you mind, son?"

"Not at all, sir."

I hand my phone to him as well and we both take a picture, but he refuses to smile. Reminds me of someone else I know. As the line goes on, I take a few more pictures with people including Joy and her mother. After an hour we finally see the last of the line and return to Will's trailer. He practically throws himself onto one of the chairs and lets out a long groan. I grab some makeup remover and some cotton pads.

"Close your eyes and I'll remove your makeup."

"Thank you, Astra."

"Of course."

While I remove his makeup, we don't speak but it doesn't feel uncomfortable. Usually I have this urge to bolt around men. Even Dillon. For some reason, I don't feel that around Will. He's the first man I've felt completely safe around since Alexi. While I remove his makeup, I study his face. I swipe the cotton over his chiseled jawline up to his high cheekbones. I get a fresh cotton pad for his eyes. This man has lashes that any woman would be jealous of. Myself included. When I move on from his eyes, I look at his clear skin and the wheels start turning. It would be a shame to leave such a beautiful blank canvas empty. I wave my hand in front of him but he doesn't move.

"Will, are you awake?" I whisper to him.

"Getting no response I quietly pull out my liquid eyeliner. I may be diabolical, but I'm not evil. Being the immature imbecile I am, I start off writing the word "brainless" across his forehead. It takes everything in me not to laugh. I then draw a unibrow followed by a mustache, a beauty mark, some winged eyeliner and two hearts on each of his cheeks. Taking a picture of my handiwork, I feel satisfied. That should teach him not to give me indirect kisses. Or any sort of kisses for that matter. Deciding that the picture is enough and I'll just show him the picture later, I grab the makeup remover to get rid of the evidence. I do have to admit he does look good with that eyeliner. After I'm done wiping one of the hearts off, suddenly a hand grabs mine and I gasp when I see his eyes fly open.

"What are you doing?"

"No, no, nothing. Just removing your makeup."

"I'll take care of the rest of it. You go home."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. It's been a long day. Have a good night."

"Thank you Will, you do the same. Oh and one more thing. The answer you seek is an oil-based cleanser."

"What?"

"You'll understand later."

After Astra leaves, he puts some of the makeup remover on the cotton round. Walking up to the mirror, he wonders what question she answered when he looks into the mirror and sees her handiwork.

"ASTRA!"

Giggling to myself, I run to the car so he cannot catch me. I have no guilt. He knows how to take it off now. Take that you milkshake kiss stealing thief. I turn on my phone and see a bunch of missed calls and texts from Dillon. Speak of the devil, that's him calling again.

"Hey Dillon, what's up?"

"Astra!" He says drawing out my name.

"What's wrong?"

"I am so sorry about my mother! She didn't make you sign the nda did she? I'll talk to her."

"Don't worry I already signed it. I don't mind, it's for your safety and for your mother's peace of mind."

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine. Really. Speaking of your safety though, you should be more careful next time. I don't know your circumstances and I won't ask, but just try to be more cautious in the future ok?

"Thanks for being so understanding. I promise I'll explain everything to you soon."

"Uh oh."

"What is it?"

"I just remembered I have to go and make Will dinner tonight."

"So?"

"So, just 10 minutes ago I drew all over his face with eyeliner including the word 'brainless' right across his forehead."

I have to pull the phone away from my ear because Dillons laugh is so loud.

"It's not funny this is serious. He now has the opportunity for revenge."

"You have to admit this is actually hilarious."

"I refuse."

"Well, good luck."

"Hey, Dillon. My favorite movie star in the whole wide world. Want to do your dear friend a favor and come over to Will's house for dinner?"

"As much as I'd love to ruin his plans, I'll pass. My mother catches me sneaking out, and I know I'll be saying hello to another rolled up magazine. Tell me how it goes."

"I will if I ever see the light of day. Talk to you later."

Realizing I'm going to have to drive home in the dark, I'm nervous. I'll have to ask Will if I can make dinner early next time. When I get to his house, I see that he's already there. Well, here goes nothing.
