25 Meetings

"Well Ms. Cyrene, let's get down to it. You saw Dillon with myself and my husband yesterday."

"Yes, ma'am."

"And you were having lunch with William."

"Yes, ma'am."

"What is your relationship with William?"

"Boss and employee."

"Then why were you eating lunch with him?"

"My mother had some misconceptions that we were in a relationship so he came with me to straighten that out."

"Were they straightened out?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"And what is your relationship with Dillon?"

"We're just friends."

"Do you want or expect anything else from either of them?"

"No ma'am. The most I will ever want to expect from either of them is friendship."

"I'm sure you have questions about what you saw yesterday."

"Yes, I do. But only if you're ok with me asking them."

"Feel free to do so."

"Is Dillon your son?"

"Yes, he is. My full name is Anastasia Callista-Baldwin"

"Does anyone else know?"

"A few select people. I shielded him from the public for his safety."

"That's all I need to know."

"What will it take to keep your silence?"

"I'm sorry, I don't understand?"

"For Dillon's safety, I need you to stay silent on this matter. Both my husband and I are people in positions of power. Name your price and we'll pay it. What is the cost of buying your silence."

"I may have only known Dillon for a short time, but I consider him a friend. I would never want any harm to befall him. You have my word that I won't mention anything to anyone, but for your piece of mind I would be happy to sign an nda. Just let me know when."

"I have one prepared."

She calls Marcus into the office again and he brings a manila folder with the nda in it. I scan over it to make sure that there's no clauses that could ruin my life. As I read over it, I see the penalty for not keeping my mouth shut.

"If Party B releases the confidential information of Party A in any way Party B will pay a $1,000,000 fine to Party A for damages."

That's fine since I won't be saying anything anyways. I wonder how she's gotten other people to sign this in the past. Probably the money she offered.

"Thank you Ms. Cyrene. I will remember this."

"Dillon is a friend. I would do anything to protect him. Is there anything else?"

"Just one more thing. About Xander, what is your relationship with him?"

"Alexi and I had a complicated relationship but no longer are in contact. I wish him no harm though if that is what you're asking."

"I will take your word for it. Thank you for your time today. Marcus will show you out."

"Have a good day, Mrs. Callista."

"You as well, Ms. Cyrene."

I follow Marcus to the elevator. Looking at the time, I realize I need to meet with Keller.

"Excuse me, Mr. Marcus. Can you tell me how to find Keller Ellis' office?"

"I'll take you there."

"Thank you."

We go down a floor and soon I'm standing before the familiar doors. After thanking him I pause and take a moment for myself. New job, new me. You've got this Astra. If you can catch a 300 pound calf with your hands, you can take care of a star. He's a nice guy anyways. This will be a piece of cake. Taking a deep breath, I knock on the door.

"Come in."

"Good morning, Keller."

"Astra! Come in. You're earlier than I expected. Why were you with Marcus?"

Remembering the conversation I just had with Mrs. Callista, I do what's best for Dillon. I lie.

"Oh, I got lost! This building is just so confusing. Luckily I ran into Mr. Marcus and he showed me the way to your office."

"Yes, this place is quite the maze."

"Can I get you a cup of coffee?"

"No, thank you."

"Alright. Let's get started. Will is currently filming a movie called 'Guild of Gods.' The movie is currently under wraps, so no one knows he's filming and we need to keep it that way. Your duties will change once he goes on tour but we'll go over those when the time comes. Right now we need you available to him 24/7. Your duties include: meeting him at the set every day, making sure he has food and drink available at all times, go over his schedule with him, make sure he's always on time, memorize his script so you can help him go over lines ..."

As Keller tells me my long list of duties, I make sure to take notes on my phone so I don't miss anything.

"Do you have any questions?"

"Yes, several actually. Does he have any allergies?"

"None."

"Any medical conditions, physical or emotional, that I need to know about?"

"He will tell you about those."

"Should anything happen to him while he's on set, who is his emergency contact?"

"That would be me?"

"With my availability, I have an appointment every Tuesday at 2pm that I cannot miss. Will that be ok?"

"What type of appointment?"

"If I tell you, can you please keep it to yourself?"

"Sure."

"I see a therapist once a week. I would like to keep that information private though. I will tell Will later today, but other than the two of you I would like to keep that a secret."

"That is not a problem, Astra. I will make sure that no one knows."

"Thank you."

"Any other questions?"

"You don't have to answer the last one, but why did the last assistant quit?"

"That's something that Will would have to answer."

"I understand."

Keller then heads to his desk and grabs two binders and hands them both to me.

"This one holds all the information you need to learn about Will, and this one holds the script for 'Guild of Gods.' Guard them both with your life. Understand?"

"Yes sir. Is there anything else I need to know?"

"Everything else should be in the binder."

"I will study it well. It looks like I need to head to the set soon if I'm going to meet Will. Thank you for everything, Keller."

"Have a great day, Astra."

As I leave the office, I bump into someone and the binders fall. I scramble to pick them up so they don't see the contents.

"I am so sorry."

"Astra? What are you doing here?"

"Alexi?"
