57 A Surprise Landing

He finally realizes the predicament he's in. Putting his hands up, he slowly backs away with me following his every move.

"Hey now Astra, let's be reasonable here for a minute."

"Hmmm, I don't think so."

"Wait wait wait just a minute. Let's take some time to think about all of this and hear me out."

"Ok, I'm all ears."

While he reasons with me, I decide I'm going to do a sneak attack. I just need to wait for the right moment.

"You can't kill me."

"Why not?"

"Because I'm your boss."

"That's it?"

"Is there any other reason?"

"I don't know you're the one who's trying to do the convincing. You tell me."

"Well, there's also the fact that you consider me a friend."

"Okay. Thought about it and weighed the consequences."

"I'm glad you're being reasonable."

"Oh yes. I've never been more reasonable in my life."

With that, I lock my fingers around his wrist so he can't escape and start to swat him with my free hand.

"You freaking degenerate! Going around stealing women's underwear!"

"Hey I don't steal women's underwear, ow! How is your grip so tight?"

"Shut up! Taking my bra and bringing it to work is stealing! Taking my milkshake is stealing! You unprofessional thieving deviant!"

"I may be ow, a thief but I'm no pervert! I could have any woman I wanted."

"Not this one!"

Suddenly, the look in his eye changes and I get a sense of foreboding. I go to swat him again and he suddenly yanks me towards him. Not expecting to be pulled towards him, the strength he exerts is too much and I go flying into his body. We both fall to the ground with me on top of him, our lips pressing together. Feeling his soft lips against mine, I feel a flurry of emotions. Not knowing what to do, I freeze in place. We stare at each other eyes wide open. Suddenly it clicks for me. I'm kissing my boss. My boss is kissing me. No no no no no. Why do I feel electrified? Pulling away I can't help but sit there and touch my lips. What just happened? How did this happen?

"Uh Astra?"

"Hmm?"

Why do I feel something pressing against me? Looking down I see that his face is flushed. His face is turned to the side refusing to look me in the eye. As I move my gaze lower I realize I'm sitting astride his waist. Realizing what's pressing against me I feel a rush of emotions and then I come to a realization. This would have never happened if he hadn't started fooling around.

"You! This is your fault! You did this to me.!

"My fault?"

"You're the one who came after me!"

"And you're the one who pulled me on to you! I bet you planned this!"

"I Planned this?"

"You keep talking about how much I like you when you are clearly the one who likes me!'

"Don't even. You're just mad because you liked it and you're too afraid to admit it.

I get up in a huff and start to straighten myself up. He follows suit."

"Let me make one thing clear to you Will. This morning never happened. Understand?"

"I'll think about it?"

"What do you mean you'll think about it. It's a yes or no question!"

"I need to think Astra. Just give me some time."

"Why? It's not like you're attracted to me. We're platonic."

He turns away with a guilty face.

"We are platonic right Will? Tell me we are platonic!"

"We're going to be late, we should go."

He starts to walk away and I follow him out the door.

"Will I need an answer. I have too much riding on this job."

"Give me 24 hours."

"For what?"

"I have some things I need to think through."

I cover my face with my hands and groan in frustration.

"Fine. You get 24 hours and not a second more but let me make one thing clear. If so much as a peep of this incident leaks today you will feel my wrath. Am I clear?

"Crystal."

"Good. Now I'm starving, let's go get some food."

"You're thinking of food even now?"

"Absolutely. I'm starving and you promised me breakfast."

Will goes to speak and I stop him.

"Don't even say a word. You owe me breakfast especially after this morning. Now whether or not you eat is up to you but I am getting breakfast and you are buying."

"You're not going to make breakfast today?"

"Thanks to a certain someone calling the police on me we don't have time."

He mumbles something under his breath.

"I'm sorry what was that? Something you want to share?"

"No, nothing at all?"

I whistle for Donner and Blitzen to say goodbye. We can't have them thinking we just abandoned them.

"Goodbye my babies I will miss you! Remember that Auntie Astra loves you to the moon and back 1000 times over!"

"You act like you're going to leave them forever."

Turning around I give Will a glare with all my intentions behind them.

"You may be the ice king to everyone else but to Donner and Blitzen you're their father. Their whole world revolves around you."

"I know that."

"Then what's stopping you?"

"It's embarrassing. No one has ever seen me act that way. Not since…"

"Fine. I will turn around. That way you can act however you."

I do as I promised and wait for him to say goodbye to them.

"My children! Daddy loves you so much! You two are the best boy and girl in the world! I will think of you all day and rush home to you as soon as I can."

He proceeds to give them what sounds like kisses. I can't believe my ears! Who knew the Ice King had it in him to be such a sweetheart. When he walks over to me it takes everything in me to mask my emotions. He starts to walk out the door and I stop him.

"Remember Will, not a word."

"Yeah I know. Now lets go get your fed before you explode."
