1 Unnoticable Good Fortune

The world's future is made by the ones living on it. In this future, buildings rise to sky displaying arrogance, while others stay close to the ground, satisfied with its style. Paths of a strange stone connect these buildings to each other, as strange mechanical objects glide across them. Plant life flourished, yet could only stay on the sides, unable to expand their territory.

In one of these living areas, lies a hill surrounded by grassy areas and trees. At the peak of the hill, there is a tall building with a roof rising about a kilometer in the sky. It gave off a vibrant feeling, like a hot-blooded youth enjoying their life.

Connecting the building to the earth was a few roads and bridges, leading to other roads on a lower plane. Vines extended from the rails near the edge of the bridges off into the grassy areas. Behind the rails lied a steep drop, about 50 meters down, where forest animals and critters scurried around. Some trees in the pit rose so high, it looked like they could touch the skies.

A field filled with thin grass could be seen off to the left of the front of the building, and windows were scattered all over the building, leading to rooms. The rooms had a large desk at the front, and many smaller desks spread out in the class with chairs beside them.

Within one of these classes, a chubby boy with glasses sat in a desk scrawling on papers on his desk, as a bag lied on the back of his chair. "I don't really feel like going to see them, so can I just have a moment to myself?" His hair and eyes matched the black lines on the paper, although his complexion was a bit dimmer than the white surface of the sheet. Perhaps he wasn't feeling so well on this day.

The boy muttered as he looked away towards one of the windows. A burst of wind could be seen behind the window screen, as a figure appears behind that window.

"Hey Eve!" A chubby yet cute boy hung off the side of the window.

Is that…. Seraph? I should just look away…. Why am I able to even hear him through the window anyway?! "Dude why are you sitting in this room alone? What about the group?"

I really wanted to sit here alone… That's my friend Seraph behind the window over there, and the group he's referring to are my friends, who are always in the same place at the same time.

"Wait, give me a second" Suddenly Seraph crossed through the window, as a grim expression crawled onto Seraph's face before vanishing like a flower bud failing to blossom.

"Isn't your ability like a cheat, crossing through materials as if they don't exist? You even improved it to be able to talk through objects?" Seraph laughed, before saying "Well of course it is, but it's not like I can't use it right?"

On Earth, humans are born normally with children possessing nothing special at birth, only with a few instincts and thoughts, yet at 7 they undergo ability gifting like Seraph.

Their whole lives change on a dime, and suddenly a wide disparity appears, along with a godly aura as if they were Children of the Heavens.

"Oh, hey Eve" a thin scholarly girl wearing a turquoise sweater with hands blue as frost appears at the door near the exit towards the hall."

"Este?" I wonder out loud.

The girl looked towards Seraph.

"Damn it Seraph were you climbing on the walls again?!"

"Girl, I can fly by passing through solid objects, do you really think I wouldn't climb with my ability?!"

Este groans in frustration, as a brilliant white light seemingly launches itself over the desks towards the window.

Suddenly Seraph jumps backward like an acrobatic, his arms hanging loosely from his sides through the window. Bang! A puff of dust with a blue tinge spreads from the window, covering Seraph's escape.

Este groans annoyingly before dashing out of my vision., leaving me with my hands curled up. I exit the classroom, unshaken by the series of events. Yet my fists showed signs of reddening.

Sighing, I left the scene without responding to any of the series of events occurring around me. I only had 10 minutes to sit in that class and finish drawing, and now I barely have any time left to head to my next class.

Beside the door, I notice a sign. A group of students was doing push-ups, and beneath the image, it said "Want to reach your dreams? Come to join the Jake Fitness Center!" People of all levels can join!" I heard of this before. The Jake Fitness Group was created as a part of the Galion Corporation's new approach to attracting customers due to declining business.

Although the approach was indeed a failure, as the "fittest" people were only the Awakened, who barely make up 50% of the population, so how would the common person join them? Suddenly blood spurts from my right hand, causing me to wince.

Damn it, why am I bleeding now? Is it because of Este's attack? I should go grab a cloth to cover my wounds later, but I really need to go! But this bag is too burdensome to drag around with me while I run...

I decide to walk through the halls noticing students' abilities being displayed all around, with screams, laughter, and merry expressions scattered throughout the hallway. I reach the hallway's staircase leading down from this floor to the 1st floor.

I really don't want to walk down the staircase… Suddenly I get a spark of an idea. I decide to jump on the rails, using my feet and arms to balance, speeding down the rail and turning around each corner.

"What are you doing! A girl with brown brunette shrieks as I pass by, unable to get off the rails. A sudden turn throws me off, as I land head first into the stone pavement.

I groan in pain, in a fit of annoyance I just brush myself, hoping to forget this incident. I rub my forehead noticing a bruise there, as I click my tongue, pulling my hand away.

A crack could be seen on the roof, as some dust poured through it little by little. As a phantasmal mist seemed to surround Eve, the glow from before suddenly disappeared cowering into Eve's body.

As I reach my next class, I didn't notice at the time but the bruise disappeared, with a faint red glow. A group of familiar students appears before my eyes, but I ignore them hoping to pass through my class in the day with a snoozing attitude.

The leak stopped, and the air froze with it. The dust could not continue to accumulate as it had always down invisible to everyone, although seemingly ready to puff out. There were no more changes, as there were few who could truly make a change like this!

Someone called out to me, although I ignored them for a few minutes, hoping they would go away. I just dozed off in the bank, although unbeknownst to me that would be a disgusting mistake.

"Could this boy be the one who reaches the Heavenly Changes Realm?" Intriguing…. Master told me of someone he found completely unique to him, and it seems to be this boy… Let me bestow him some good fortune, perhaps this would be a nice investment.

Eve fell asleep, finally receiving the two things he needed the most, although in an unexpected manner.
