3 Glory Lacks luck, Only Spirit

"Why am I here?"

Eve was sitting in a white room, with mechanical structures giving off a brilliant white glow surrounding him, and a display standing off to Eve's left.

His legs were covered with a soft white blanket, and his body was laid out in a bed like structure, with a slight incline from the center to the top for Eve's back.

A blood packet hung off a metal pole with two wheels at the bottom. A tube was seemingly pumping blood into his right arm from the blood packet.

A breeze came from a window behind Eve, as his eyes lied on the door in front him, giving Eve a mysterious look.

"The nice nurse with the brown hair in a bun said a man called the ambulance for me… He even stayed with me till I got here and waited in the lobby."

"How did I even collapse?! I was just running fast for a few minutes!? Is my body that weak?

Have I been doing "that" all night or something?! Was I intending to fall unconscious all along?"

A woman in a pink outfit walks into the room, her black hair in a bun, and nails matching her outfit.

Her cheeks also glowed a little pink, and it was clear her makeup brought out her youthfulness.

She smiled kindly while saying, "The man who took you here earlier just left after hearing you were awake."

"Did he say anything before leaving?"

"No, he just left in a rush. Although you shouldn't inconvenience others like this by over-exert yourself!

The bio scans show that your physique is already extraordinarily weak for the average person!" The nurse rebuked Eve, although with kind intentions.

Ah whoever picked me up was probably one of those lone wolf type of people…. Or maybe just really kind-hearted.

But why did I faint? Yes, my body is naturally weak, but never before did I faint from over-stressing myself… Did I hear something before falling asleep? I really don't know…

Eve laughed a little before responding "Sorry, I think I was just under a bit too much stress so I fainted…"

"Are you sure about that? I would be happy to see you again, just not in the condition as today…."

"I'm fine, I'm fine, I won't inconvenience the Berry Care Hospital again."

"You can come by any time if you feel unhealthy, after all this area has a lot of hospitals already, so we always have a room available."

The reason there were so many hospitals in the area could be connected to the policies created a few decades ago, which still shape the modern world of blood abilities.

Governments were given the responsibility of funding hospitals in their entirety, and other public services for the common person.

It actually all started with a specific person, who was born practically a century ago. Yet there is no one who can forget him, the only person whose life altered the world for generations to come.

"Maybe if I get the urge to come to see you again, Ms.…."

"Ms. Wayne" The nurse completes Eve's statement.

Eve gets up, pulling off the tube from his arm, and the blanket from his legs as he stands up once again.

"Oh, don't forget to check in with the receptionist to check out, we need to record your visit in our files."

I just want to go home… Eve left quietly, clearly tired of talking with the nurse.

He exited the room, entering a clean white hallway with doors and windows leading to rooms like where Eve was sleeping.

A group of people in white clothes rushed by, rolling a man along on a rack held by legs with two wheels. They seemed to be in a panic, unlike the man who was unconscious on the roller.

Oh god…. I really should get out of here as soon as possible. I don't want any trouble.

Eve seemed to cower away, convinced he had to escape this disgusting building.

Others walked by him in clean garments, clearly bus at their job. Eve reached the counter with the receptionist, a man with a strict look, yet more comforting than aggressive.

The man's expression shined as he noticed Eve walking into the lobby as he said "Ah, so you're leaving now? How are you now?"

"I just over-exerted myself, I'm fine." Eve was clearly unfocused, as his attention was dragged to a nearby screen behind the receptionist.

On the screen, a blonde woman stood in front of a white glowing background was holding a bottle saying vivaciously

"A bottle of a whole new life for you, awaken to a new fate….."

The woman spun around with her hair flowing in the air.

"LiveAlive"

Text of prices and rules started floating on the screen as Eve looked away to the receptionist.

"Isn't she beautiful? I heard Emily Laurence actually didn't awaken her ability till she was 10 and became a miracle story.

Although it has nothing to do with LiveAlive's product anyway. Maybe you have a chance with her if you become their investor!"

The receptionist teased Eve, clearly noticing his focus on the screen, although he misunderstood Eve's thoughts.

Eve bitterly smiles and says "Yah, maybe." Eve leaves the hospital, as the receptionist starts to urge his back, clearly understanding that his words annoyed Eve.

Taking a look at the set of chairs lying on the wall, Eve pushes one of the two doors, walking forward as his hands lie on the door's bar, which pushed into the door, like a large button.

As the door opened, Eve pulled on his backpack strap, with an icy expression contrasting the bright light shining on him.

Through those double doors, there were streets filled with people, and massive buildings forcing the roads to take turns.

Eve's eyes wince, readjusting to the scene in front of him. Strangely, he ignores the large advertisements on the buildings, the flashing traffic lights, the mechanical floating vehicles, or the crowds of people crossing streets unconcernedly.

A young Caucasian black-haired boy, held a fluttering light akin to lighting, yet acted like a puppy as it rubbed his skin affectionately.

The young boy had a pleasant smile as he played with the light, causing a surge of anger to fill Eve.

With an indifferent expression, Eve walked past the boy, toward a pole with a sign reading a number and a name.

There was a metal bench there with a few people standing around it, clearly waiting for something.

Like a wave, one by one they look toward the left toward a large floating vehicle.

It stops in front of the pole allowing a woman, and a young child to get off. Eve got on the bus along with the others who were waiting at the stop, ignoring the bus driver as he takes a seat in one of the rows of blue cushioned chairs.

It's nice how anyone can use a bus at no cost as if the world is fair to the poor and the rich.

Just like how anyone can go to the hospital, take government taxi's, have utilities like electricity, and study at school, post-secondary or other types.

Yet how could I believe this is true when the person who made these changes became the hidden ruler of the world?

The bus started moving after all the passengers took their seats, with the bus windows showing buildings and vehicles passing by.

Eve left his backpack on the seat beside him, as he stretched his body out on his seat.

Our blood abilities are brought out by a genius, who acts as if the world can be fair with geniuses and ordinary people living happily.

He says he never intended to control the world, but after creating such a thing, can you really believe he never intended to gain endless influence over the countries?

He righteously pushes away criminals to a desolate continent, although their only action was a joint prison break. No one knows what happened to them, as their traces have completely disappeared.

But I don't care about any of this, I even like the man. Yet why did he have to leave me as a cripple?!

The bus stopped at a pole with a sign on it exactly the same as the one in front of the hospital.

Eve and a young man walks out of the bus, exiting through an automatic door leading onto a pavement sidewalk.

Trees sat on the side of sidewalks, with a large road in the middle branching off to the side into neighborhoods surrounded by grassy areas.

Eve walked down the sidewalk, noticing a few families walking on the other side of the road and one family crossing the road.

He takes a turn into a neighborhood with filled parking spaces for vehicles and grassy areas on the side of the sidewalk.

"Hey Eve!" A mature brown-haired woman greets Eve as he walks towards his house, clearly not in the mood to talk to her. Yet Eve puts on a smile and greets her "Hey Monique."

"How are you doing?"

Eve starts moving a little faster "Good, I am good"

He finally reaches his door, quickly rubbing on the door, performing a few gestures on the handle.

"That's good. Well, see you tomorrow."

The door glows with a blue light as Eve says "Yah, of course, see you too."

He pulls open the door and walks through it before slamming the door with a surprising amount of strength.

I don't need to be with anyone. I don't need a lover, friends, helpers, supporters, haters, or anyone.

I need to solve my problems and reach the end of my life with the least amount of suffering I could possibly have. Red tinges appear in Eve's eyes, as the icy expressions shows hints of hatred.

I want to move at the fastest speed possible, without these lurkers and escape these regrets poisoning my mind. The world cursed me, does it dare to get in my way again?

Hell, If the world begs me enough, perhaps I can bring someone along with me. A shocking bloody aura floats out of Eve, with only a red murky scene in his eyes.

If someone who was familiar with Eve was within the house they would see how Eve,

Has finally cracked.
