3 Chapter 3: 'Sun Killer'

'The Nighttime'

The time from sunset to sunrise with no light, where the moon illuminates the Dark land crawling with Death.

All the faction towns and cities close their gates and the wanderers and left to Survive the night among the Dead.

The only reason the night is feared is due to the Zombie's being more agile than they usually are at the dawn.

Their Sense is Heightened During that time and Get alerted Alerted due to the slightest of a Loud sound. Zombies have poor vision but Great Hearing (Stage 4 and 5 being exceptions)

I couldn't go back to the gates at this point, so I had to survive the night alone.

"Guess there's No way I can go back there and with all the supplies I have in hand I can't take it all."

Then it occurred to me that there was a small Cave somewhere around the horizon with a Carrier truck with a house like interior that is somewhat in good condition to stay not too far away from my position.

But I had the Supplies in Hand that were extremely heavy and could alert all the nearby infected. So I reduced my Load, I Took an Assault rifle with one Extra Magazine, 2 pistols with 1 extra Magazine Each.

I hid the Supply Drop Somewhere near the Building before all the Zombies Crowded and place and went low Profile.

The Cave was Approximately 950 Meters away through the Forest crawling with the Infected. Among the useful things I got in the supply drops other than the Weapons was a flashlight. It was extremely rare to find one in the wild with Batteries intact but somehow I did.

The sunset left the fading blue sky as the only colour I see before it goes dark, I grabbed my knife and started silently crossing the Moonlit forest with a torch in my hand.

I Moved silently, I had to make sure I take step by step making sure I didn't make a single loud noise.

"AAARGHHHHHH"

All the zombie's started Getting more agile as time went by and started desperately looking out for Prey.

Every one of them woke up and started roaming around. Eagerly looking for prey,

*Snaps*

"oh, fu-"

"ARRGGHHHH"

a Zombie came running towards me at great speed.

"Cmere fucker"

I jumped out of his way and he crashed into the tree smashing his Head open.

"Good riddance, but now I deal with all of them"

"AAARGGGGHHHHH"

Every Zombie in around a 20-meter radius came towards the sound.

Five zombies came rushing in together chasing for their prey.

I took a heavy branch of the tree and Threw it at the Infected, Making them collapse.

I immediately looked back and Stabbed an infected behind through his head, splattering blood all around.

I started running like my life depended on it because my plan went to shit.

I saw two Zombies approaching me, so I took a chance.

I picked up a rock and threw it at the first zombie's leg knock it down.

I stomped its head (killing it) and used its back as a Ramp. I launched myself of its back at the other Zombie and slashed his throat.

without looking back I continued Running.

Suddenly a Stage 3 infected appeared after hiding behind a Tree. I couldn't take it out with my Knife alone.

I tried to Outrun it and Instantly regretted it.

Every Zombie around me Started getting attracted to the sound of the steps and rushed towards my Position.

I was definitely about to Die. The Cave was roughly 100 meters away but if I attract a lot of them, I might die.

but suddenly I noticed a cliff to my right while running.

Without a Second I ran towards the cliff. it wasn't a big fall so I had an Idea.

"Okay here we GOOOOO"

I grabbed a loosened long Brach and jumped off the cliff, I hung onto the branch and used it as a rope swing around to the higher edge of the cliff which made me lose the tail of all the Zombies.

I pushed myself hard and climbed the edge, I then took my flashlight on to see if anyone was there

"Gosh, I would've been fucked if that long and loosened branch wasn't there."

I slowly moved from the edge of the cliff and slid towards the cave entrance.

After a few minutes, I Finally reached the Cave entrance which was quite small but its interior was spacious as hell.

I found this cave accidentally while being on a commission by a person in the faction to bring him a certain herb he found to be useful in his research called 'tesseract opus'. It was a newly formed black coloured herb after the disasters. It could be used for many unknown purposes so it was quite a valuable herb.

I quietly entered the dark moonlit Resonant cave and closed off the entrance Temporarily,

I'd never gone inside this truck big carrier minivan truck before but I was certain a person used to live here before doing research the last time I came here.

I went towards the minivan and opened the Door,

it was a place full of observation of changes all around the world after the Calamity took place.

Luckily the lights were still working and there were some Canned Food supplies too that were supposedly safe and Edible.

and there was also a comfortable bed and an Air conditioning system.

It was almost as if I'd returned to the Time before the calamity even though I never really experienced it.

"Guess I'll spend a good night here and get the rest of the supplies in the morning"

I looked around the minivan for more stuff I could salvage,

In Between that I found some voice memos that were recorded by this person.

Luckily there was a memo player in the van so I immediately took the Memo disks and put them on a player.

"Bzzztttt*****

Well Good morning or whatever time to whoever Listening this, after a big Hunt for fuel, I have finally come back to the MiniVan. Gotta say times have been tough for all of us here salvaging the remaining supplies left on this destroyed wasteland we created. but we'll still survive for a long time, somehow.
