11 Chapter 11: Not enough time

There is nothing like seeing someone you love in pain.

Not the thriving kind of pain, the one that they receive when they stump their foot or break their arm. Not the kind of pain that hurts only for a few seconds or a few hours.

No.

The kind of pain that consumes their soul. That takes everything honest and strong about them and turns it into something else. Something darker.

It took seconds.

Seconds of getting a phone call that lasted longer than it should have.

Seconds of speaking to one of your favorite teachers about your future and excitement of beginning your life with the one you love.

A plan was set in place and had I know that, I would have destroyed everyone in my wake to get her away.

Away from everything and everyone that could ever hurt us.

But, we don't get to make those decisions.

We only get to deal with the one's we have already made.

And try to survive them.
