1 No memory

There I was kneeling down infront of the man I hated. The King. I hated him too much but what can I do? We were caught and brought here.

He said "Oh!! My dear. You are really brave but remember girls are just made for cooking and raising children."

I was too angry after listening this. How could he say that? I know in this kingdom girls are underrated but that never means that you could say that. I wanted to pick the sword beside me and slit his throat. But I was caught and under the control of the King.

The king ordered his men "Kill this girl. This should be served as a lesson to girls that they are just a good for nothing."

I saw the man taking his sword out and slashing it towards me.

As I closed my eyes. I remember everything that happened to me in the recent time. What happened with me and how I reached here in this ugly situation.

Let's go back to the beginning of what and where it happened.....

I woke up in a bed. I looked around and saw that I was in a cottage. I now looked at myself, I was dressed in a very light pink top that reached until my ankle from behind and had a slit from front with a leggings.

The dress was now very dirty but still I could see that the dress was gorgeous. I had no footwear then I thought "I was sleeping on a bed. ofcourse I didn't have a footwear on."

My hair were big until my legs. They were jet black and had a very huge volume. I touched my face and saw that my face was dirty a little.

I now looked around and saw an elderly women making food. I got up the bed and walked to the elderly woman. I called her by touching her. She turned around.

She had white skin with wrinkles. Her eyes were black. I could say that she must have been beautiful when Young.

I said "Miss, please let me help you. You don't have the age to do these work. Right now you have just one work that is to sleep." When I spoke I felt that I was still very small and my voice was melodious.

I don't know why but it seemed that what I did was my character. I love helping people. It was an instant reaction. I didn't think much before taking the lead in cooking.

The elderly woman stood up and said "Dear, it is okay. You are hurt, you still have to rest."

"But you are not well enough to do this and most importantly you are using coal which is not healthy for you." I pulled her with me and made her sit on the bed "Sit here."

I now walked back to make food. She was using coal to make food. I sat down to make food. When I saw everything I came to know that "Ummmm I don't know how to cook."

I heard the elderly woman laugh a little and say "Leave it darling, I will do it."

I said "No!!! I will do it and only I will do it. You just guide me how to."

I understood that I was a very stubborn girl who loves to do her job on her own without any help.

She said "Dear....."

"I said No!!! Tell me how to."

She also understood my character and gave up "Take the potato and...." She kept telling me what to do.

I made the food but I could tell that I have never done that in my while life.

The food was now ready and I sat beside the old lady. She checked my head by touching it. She said "You still have a little fever."

Fever? but I don't feel like I have.

She said "I have let you cook but now you have to rest."

I nodded and rested. She went out for something.

I heard a girl "Granny!!? Granny!!?"

I sat up and saw a girl come in. She was looking at me frowning. She was a medium coloured girl wearing a blue coloured long top until the ankle and leggings too. She had her hairs open too but her hairs were smaller.

She looked at me and came running to me "Well wow!!!! You have a really amazing hairs. So long!!!!!!!" I laughed a little when she played with my hairs.

Then I heard a voice "Stop it Luna. What are you doing?"

She turned back to see who it was clearing the view for me too I saw that elderly woman.

"Granny Cora!!!! I was here to get some Sugar from you." She explained.

"The lady behind you has fever. Don't disturb her."

"Granny but look at her hairs." She then started blushing.

"Luna, stop blushing." That elderly woman now took out some sugar and gave to Luna.

She said "You should come out and sit with the villagers."

I nodded slightly and then Luna went away.

Elderly woman now sat beside me and said "Call me Granny Cora."

"Ok Granny Cora."

"But I can't always call you dear, right. What is your name."

"My name is..." I tried to say my name but it never came of my mouth.

I tried to remember my name but I couldn't. Then I tried to remember anything, anything at all.

I remember nothing. I LOST IT!!!!!!!!!

I shouted "Ahhhh!!!"

Granny Cora was taken aback and asked "What happened dear."

"I don't remeber anything."

Her eyes rounded "Nothing at all?"

I nodded and she said "Oh my God. Don't worry dear we will take care of you."

She pulled me towards her and hugged me. I felt crying and that helped me. It is like she knew what I needed at that time.

I stopped crying after few minutes. "Dear it will be alright. We will work out something." Granny Cora said.

I thought what could I work out? it felt like everything was wrong. I was at a wrong place but I didn't know why. I felt everything happening around me was wrong.

Granny Cora said "Dear, it is a small village. If we talk to the villagers we might get something. Come with me."

She helped me up and then we walked out.

I saw destruction. The village seemed to be destroyed. Everything was falling here and there.

I saw young men working hard to get everything in place. Some old people were sitting on a bench and talking. Kids were playing and I didn't see any women.

"Granny Cora, were are the women?" I was curious.

"You had some serious memory loss. You don't even remember about the rules of the kingdom." Granny Cora was concerned.

I walked with Granny Cora. She called everyone around. Every men and women respected her because she was elder. So, as soon as she called everyone, they came running.

"People, I want to say that last night at the forest while collecting some herbs I found this young lady falling near the tree. She was hurt so, I brought her here. I want you all the welcome her like the daughter of this village." Granny Cora was standing on a bench and announcing. I was standing beside her very shyly.

The villagers all have a warm smile to me. A woman walked up to me and gave me a hug and said "Welcome dear. You will be treated as our own child."

I was welcomed warmly with warm smiles and hugs. They treated me well.

"But....." Granny Cora again caught there attention "There is a problem. She remembers nothing about herself. Not even her name."

"NO MEMORY!!!?" Everyone in the village was looking at me.

I was thinking that they might not accept me now. The reason being they don't know anything about me and neither do I. It makes tough for them to believe me.

Because they will never know my background. Where did I come from?Who was I? Was I a good person? I was lying hurt near the tree, who hurt me? Was the person still behind me? Becuase if the person was still coming behind me that would make the Villagers suffer.
