23 WHERE YOU REALLY BELONG

Charles has a head injury, a broken bone, and gun shot on his right leg. But most importantly, he was fighting with a horrible looking monster that was currently covered by blood that made it look more morbid than ever.

Charles kept on trying to find a way out, looking around pass through the chaos of bodies and ruins not to mention the hovering spirits everywhere. To his dismay, the door out of there was still blocked.

He thought about the eyes Irife has placed on him, but what good it can do if it cannot help him. He cursed Viole again for bringing him there.

Blood dripping from Charles head, he pushed himself again to move. His left eye prove to be a hindrance, he couldn't see well so when the monster anticipated his movement, he didn't see when it run with him and swatted him away preventing him from running. He rolled to the ground blood remaining on the floor.

He groaned painfully while clutching his hurting chest.

He stared above, painfully realizing that everything got brighter than before. The blue specks hovering above him, he thought it looked eerily familiar and annoying at the same time. He smelt the tang of blood and the smell of death. He knew how helpless his situation had become. For a second he thought he's back home, he will wake from this dream any minute now. The pain will make him awake soon, he just needed to be patient, but at the back of his head he knew it was only his wishful thinking. He will die if he didn't do something.

He heard the loud roar of triumph of the horrible monster. He saw it coming to him at the edge of his vision and every step gave him shiver.

He didn't know how long he was lying in the floor when it finally came to him. He watched at it as it crouched down at him. Its big horrible face leaned close to him when it chuckled and finally spoke, "We've finally met. I was curious about you when Jeremy came home empty handed. Then he told us to find you whatever it takes before she does."

His voice came as a half growl that it made Charles understanding a little difficult.

He wonders what so special about him, but then he thought if he come and get close to them it will only take a couple of reach before he can finally get a hold of the person who murdered his family. He can now finally start his plan to avenge them.

But a voice owned by Viole came to his thought.

"They make you one of them until you can't remember."

He didn't want that as well.

He can lose some of his memories but he didn't want to lose himself.

The monster had stood up, looked around at all the chaos as if only realizing for the first time what he had done.

He walked away, leaving Charles bleeding lying on the floor.

Charles thought it was over, he couldn't move a muscle. His body had finally given up, but as minutes tick by the monster didn't appear again.

Was it gone? He had asked himself. But it only took a moment before someone, a man half naked and barefooted stood at his side. He has a blond hair all the way to his shoulder. What gave away was the look of that smirk that Charles knew he saw from the monster. Was it possible?

Charles watched as it sat down crossed leg beside his right. He sat as if he was at home, not caring about all the carnage that had recently happened around him. Charles watched as he placed his chin on his right hand.

"The name's Eugene, nice to meet you Charles."

Charles cannot talk obviously but Eugene stared at him casually waiting for his reaction. Charles couldn't even lift a finger what more to open his mouth to talk.

"Are you surprised on how I came to find you? Let me tell you a secret." A glint of amusement was seen on Eugene's eyes. "The thing is I already knew from the start where you're hiding. I just can't get in since the place keeps out Reapers like me." Eugene said casually as if telling a story to his long lost friend. "So I waited patiently." He added. "I'm a good tracker you see. I can always find anyone if I set my mind into it. Even if you go through some shortcuts and passageway I can always follow you."

Charles knew Eugene was telling the truth even if he looked like someone whose words isn't to be trusted.

"It's fun to be with us." Eugene said a smile on his face. "We'll be brothers in arms. We'll be family. Everyone will look out for you. The jobs will be a lot easier together, so you'll be safer."

Charles shuddered inwardly at Eugene's tone because he sounded so authentic right at that moment.

"He wants you home," Eugene said again leaning forward to examine Charles state and if he was still awake and listening.

"Our home where you really belong. You'll heal there, and everyone can help you. I can help you." He said chuckling. "We'll aside from Jeremy and a few others who have a screw loose on their heads."

Charles thought Eugene didn't know he was crazier than that Jeremy guy. He just killed and wreck havoc to a lot of peoples lives just to capture him.
