7 LUCK

The room was only lit by two candles.

Shadows danced on the wall, but Charles clearly saw her sitting on a worn out couch, her back to him.

He has this urge to call her, to talk to her and be near her, but all of these cravings he only associated with his changes. It was why he was always hurt, for whatever reason the urge keeps needing him to try and shield her.

He stood there waiting, watching her shadows dancing with the light. He didn't know how much time has passed but he was contented to stay there.

Meanwhile, Meleden stood on the other side of the darkened room, watching Charles stare. The person they are with was lost on her own thought. She and Charles both love watching her and being near her but Meleden knew Charles feel something more that she didn't have, but she was sure that the three of them are connected, but if Charles gets lost, Meleden was sure this time "SHE" will not survive.

Charles wondered if what he heard that night was part of his dream or he was only hearing things before he was successfully engulfed by darkness.

It was already a few weeks passed since the last he saw Dragon and Irife. When he returned to his senses he found himself in the hospital. They told them he was seen passed out on an alley and was intoxicated by alcohol when he arrived.

He returned to the alley where the store of Dragon was situated but to his dismay, it was already abandoned.

He was left contemplating all the information he was given. All of it was not easy to believe, but what else could it be.

They were demons.

His sister could have been one if she had survived.

He returned to his life as a young business man, but his focus was seldom on something else. He was caught staring at nothing by his employees, looks stressed and quite paranoid. He knew they were whispering behind his back, and he knew his board members are beginning to doubt his capabilities of handling his responsibilities. He was trying to become normal, but his encounters with the woman and Dragon always keeps him from working.

He heads home to an empty house every night, have dinner and go to bed, the same routine every single day. But every time he always looks disheveled and worn out. It's as if any day he was going to get himself sick.

On a day where dark clouds roam from the sky, Charles was feeling heavily burdened. His usual straight and prideful posture was now slumped; he blankly stared at everyone that passes him by. It was like any other day again, the urge of finding her keeps on nagging at the back of his mind, he kept himself busy to at least forget everything, but that day he felt something was different. It's as if whatever he does today will never be productive, or so he seems.

He made a pause on his step at the middle of the street. Stared at nothing in particular and sighed heavily.

No clues on finding her again.

Dragon didn't give him clues on his whereabouts and it was like they have disappeared on the face of the earth.

He tried calling Sato's secretary, but she always hangs up the phone, there was no way he can meet her too since she was already on the other side of the world, it'll take him days to fly to her, he didn't even have enough good reasons to tell Sato why he wanted to see them.

He was warned, so he was contemplating if he should stop. He was on a dead end again anyway, but remembering his family he can't stop feeling angry.

He was half an hour late when he finally reached his building. Before he could step inside on the elevator, his receptionist came running to him and whispered, "Sir, there is a girl who wanted to talk to you. I already told her she should get an appointment first but she keeps on insisting, your secretary didn't want to accommodate her either, but she didn't want to leave so we made the guards hold her in their quarters. Should we send her away? She said you know her and it's important."

Charles gave her a long stare, why should he be bothered by this? Wasn't it their responsibilities to take care of this? Where is his secretary anyway?

"Tell my secretary to take care of it." He said watching the elevator open to accommodate him.

Feeling flustered the woman nodded, "Yes sir," she answered.

Before Charles took a step forward he suddenly changed his mind. "Wait," he said, curiosity getting the best of him. "Did she say her name?" He asked.

"I think she said her name was Irene?" She answered not sure if she remembered it correctly.

Charles couldn't remember having an acquaintance named Irene, and his receptionist looks like she didn't remember.

"Are you sure?" He asked her again.

The woman wrinkled her forehead thinking deeply. "I think it was Irene, but her pronunciations sounded like french though. Was it Irefe?" She whispered to herself.

Charles suddenly felt like he was struck by lightning. While he was finding ways to contact them he didn't thought someone will actually try to find him.

"Bring her to me." He immediately said.
