16 FIERY ORANGE BOY 3/3

Charles had already reached his limit. He dragged himself off the chair, he could no longer control his eyes from closing and his bodies from dropping on the love couch. He felt like he could sleep for days.

When Irife and Viole arrive back on the room, Charles was already sleeping sprawled face down on the couch. Both weren't surprise the way Charles looked like a half dead person earlier.

Irife politely rearranged Charles feet to make him comfortable. She sighed watching him like that. So much things has happened lately from a normal life to an awakened Reaper, and here she thought he was just a demon, but when he manifested the same powers Reapers possess she honestly didn't know if it was for the best. Those people will not stop until he joins them. Viole was the only choice. He can help Charles grow to learn to stand on his own two feet as a Reaper.

Viole still didn't agree to the request though. He just stood there earlier staring at her; he looked like he was remembering past memories so she decided not to ask.

"What happened to you both this morning?" Viole asked out of curiosity.

Irife stared at him, recalling past events, "It happened last night," she started. " I followed Charles home persuading him to come with me. He still didn't know he was awakened so he kept on refusing, we didn't anticipated that those people was already watching him closely so they found out I approached and told Charles about the situation. They weren't happy about it and they attacked. I saw Charles having this uncanny way of reacting; he looked as if he already knew what to do. He counter attacked using his powers. The Reaper with them was happy he could do that so he was intent on bringing Charles back with him, but well, we managed to get away so we were running after that." She summarized looking worried.

Viole remembered he didn't have nor used any powers when he learned he was being hunted, but he knew about the uncanny way of knowing what to do, he used that ability to his advantage on getting away.

"Was his ancestor's demons too?" Viole continued to ask.

Irife shrugged though, "My old man didn't tell me the specific of his family history but what do you think?" She asked back.

"I traced back mine with Dragon," Viole answered, "And found out they were awakened, so in some part of the lineage there was once a Reaper in there and passed on the gene to well me, but the line had grown apart so maybe in some branches of my family tree there is someone just like me. So I guess this guy here is the same, we all have that one reason why we all get to be like this." But Viole thought that Charles awakening is a little off. He knew there was something going on with him even before he realized what he was, but Irife said Charles didn't know he was already awakened; he claimed he didn't feel anything different not until he realized his life can very well be in danger. So what was the difference? It may be from the one person who gave Charles his power, the one person who may be a true Reaper from the start.

His curiosity can only be answered if he talks to Dragon.

But the question still lies whether he will help or not. There were still things he owes the old man, but he didn't want anything to do with either Andria or those people. They were the problem from the start.

"Irife," He said turning to Irife again. "Are you sure no one followed you?"

Irife nodded, "I placed my eyes on places we came from and on the way here, so I will easily find out if there were any."

"But you were still caught off guard when they attacked you." He said sounding a bit sarcastically.

"That was my mistake." Irife said sighing not taking offence. "I didn't anticipate that this was a serious case, that there were already someone watching his every moves so this time I didn't take any chances."

Viole in terms of experience and power he still can out run these people, but not with someone who can lag him behind. But will Irife be okay after this?

"Where are you going to stay after this?" He asked.

"I sent my old man a message, he'll be hiding himself for a while, and I'll wait for him to tell me where he is so for the meantime I'll do the same." Growing up with a business of bartering information's, she learned to use her ability in a much more sophisticated way.

Viole thought the idea was absurd. She'll be hunted for sure; she'll be the only person who they can get the information of their whereabouts.

"No," He said, "You'll stay, both of you. You will only compromise this place; I don't want to take any chances too."

Irife lit up when finally she heard Viole agreed to take Charles in, here she thought he will surely reject on the spot, but the moment was ruined when Viole said, "So, I thought for the past years you hated me. But here you are," He said beaming.
