Good News

A few hours later Mrs Brundle turned up out of breath.

"I came as soon as I could!" She exclaimed almost breaking the door handle when entering the room. "Is it good news? Bad news? I need details! Tell me quickly!" She exclaimed bombarding Dr Acula.

"Calm down Mrs Brundle. Yes, it is good news. I checked the results and the antidote does work on Ella's blood type so we can immediately proceed to vaccinate her." He said with a smile. Mrs Brundles eyes glistened as she rushed towards Ella.

"Do you hear that! You're getting out of the place!" She exclaimed excitedly holding Ella's hand.

"Yay, can't wait," Ella said seeming a little less enthusiastic than she should have been.

"What's wrong, Ella? You can finally do things a normal teenage girl can do. Aren't you excited?" Mrs Brundle asked a little worried.

"Yeah, o-of course I am, but I was thinking..." Ella trailed off a little nervous.

"What is it?"

"Well, could we hold off on the vaccination for a day or two? I just want to, you know, say goodbye to this place before I leave considering this is the first place I saw when I got amnesia." She said awkwardly.

"Ella what do you mean by that?" Mrs Brundle asked a little more than concerned.

"What I mean is, this place holds s-sentimental value to me so I thought..." Ella trailed off again, awkwardly, unsure how to continue.

"Trust me, once you leave this place you won't ever want to come back. " Dr Acula said jokingly. "But why not? If she wants to stay a little longer let her, I've already got the vaccine ready for any time." Dr Acula said with a warm smile. Mrs Brundle looked at him with tears forming. She gave out an exasperated sigh then gave a tiny smile.

"Ok honey, you can stay. But I want you to be vaccinated sooner rather than later, ok?" Mrs Brundle said a little sternly.

"R-right..." Ella said timidly.

She can be pretty scary. Ella thought.

"I'm gonna have a talk with Dr Acula before I leave and-" Mrs Brundle said then cut herself short when she noticed something on Ella's table. It was the pendant. "Ella? Where did you get that?" She asked, her body as if paralyzed, didn't move at all. Her eyes were locked on the pendant.

"O-oh, Callum gave it to me. He said it was mine before I lost my memories." She said with a smile picking the locket up.

"I-I see... did he say anything about it?" She asked tears forming in her eyes. Ella stared at her then hesitated before shaking her head in silence. "I see..." She had a relieved smile on her face before turning to leave. "Don't stay up late tonight." She said before leaving the room with Dr Acula.

Ella saw her off with a blank face. She looked at her pendent then realised her mother was definitely hiding the existence of her brother. She placed it down before drifting into a deep sleep. Otto came into the room nervously then saw Ella asleep. He heaved a huge sigh of exasperation but definitely had regret in his eyes.

"I should've told her. You idiot." He muttered to himself before leaving the room again.
