2 Chapter 2: (backstory)

(Her (Al) age in this backstory is 9)

"Mom! Buy me an ice cream" I persisted.

" Okay okay, I'll buy you one".

Took out some cash from her worn out wallet she'd had for 13 years.

"Al can u stay here and quietly eat your ice cream?" I nodded my head.

"Mommy has to go somewhere for a little bit"

As her figure slowly faded into the distance, I sat quietly on a bench and ate my ice cream.

A few minutes had passed and I got bored. So I looked around the amusement park and saw a boy who got lost.

"Are you okay?" I said to the boy who was intensely crying his eyes out.

"Where's my mom and dad??!!" He ask.

He was much more younger than me, 5-6 yrs old I think.

"Don't worry I'll help you." I said that statement but truly I am lost myself...

AN- she's stating here is that she herself don't know where she is because she just sat on a bench she found

I panicked looking around for adults to help the both of us. I tried to be dependable but still I'm just a kid.

"Stay here for awhile, I'm gonna ask a guard to help us". I said while frantically searching around.

He grabbed my hand and said "Don't leave me please.." while tears overflowing on both of his cheek.

We walked around for awhile while me holding his trembling hands.

"Mom!"

He shouted as he ran towards his mother.

"Thank you for finding my son" she says with an exhausted look on her face for she ran around helplessly looking for her lost son.

"Ma, *sniff* where's dad?"

"You're dad is waiting at the tea cup ride, he's waiting over there while guarding our stuff."

"Where's your family, little girl?" The boys mother ask while sweat dripping on her forehead.

I replied with "I don't know, but I'm pretty sure my mom's gonna come back because she told me so."

(I was really clueless back then and just patiently waited for hours on that bench the day she left me behind.)

-- she's speaking here in the present as she's remembering the past--

The boys mother helped me go trace my steps so I could go back to where I originally was, I said my thanks and they went on their way.

It was already 6pm and one of the guards told me that it's already closing time and I have to leave...

He was also curious as to why I'm alone. I then told him the whole story.

"Wait here, I'm gonna ask around if anyone saw your mother, and please tell me what she looked like so I can identify her."

"My mother's wearing a worn out green long skirt paired with a yellow long sleeve top, she's also wearing a dark green jacket. She has dark brown hair and black eyes."

Waited for awhile in that bench feeling chilly as night began to rise. He finally came back and told me such an unpleasant news... He was surprised by my reaction.

-flash back-

"Hey mister, did you find my mother?? I'm getting chilly and I really miss her" I said with a frown.

"I'm very sorry little girl-"

"Al... Call me Allie"

"Allie, I'm very sorry to inform you but I have been searching around but your mother is nowhere to be found."

"What do you mean by that mister??"

"This may be hard to take in--"

He bend on one knee and pat my head.

"but unfortunately I think your mother has left you behind..."

He gave me a hug and keep saying all over again "it's ok, don't cry Allie..." What was surprising was not the fact a stranger hugged me or the fact that my mom abandoned me, It's the fact I didn't cry nor felt sad, I just stood there with a blank look on my face as if I already know what was coming but just denied it because of the fear of being left behind.
