17 Chapter 16: The end of the beginning

~~time skip 2 years 6 months~~

~~Location: underground cave system~~

~~Shikos P.O.V~~

"Shiko-chan are you almost done we should head out our destination is close now" Haku called out to me while i was sitting down and meditating. The last 2 and a half years have been spent in hiding, Haku, Yumi and i had been moving around constantly while I have tried to track down where the rebellion leaders have been hiding.

We have not been idle while on the run either i have trained Haku and Yumi to the best of my abilities there not quite at there best yet but hopefully soon we can train with others to better our selfs. Haku has been practicing with her ice, making it into small needles and learning where the week points are on the body. Not only that but Haku is alot more stable now that her mom is still alive. Mean while Yumi while she doesn't like to fight i have insisted she learn to defend herself with her ice release.

Me on the other hand I have been trying somthing new and potentially very dangerous over the last two years. My eye sight has gone a bit blurry from my continued use of the mongekuo while defending us against the numerous Root anbu that have been tracking us so i decide to test somthing that came to mind. I simply started by sitting down and trying to sense chakra within the air. A year of constantly doing that had finally had results and this last year I have been slowly absorbing the nature chakra into myself.

At the start i could only take in very little if i tried to take in alot my body would start to turn to stone, After much trail and error I had found just the right amount of chakra to take in. Haku says that when im meditating and taking in nature chakra I disappear from her senses unless she's really looking which would make sense at this point. She also said that I would have thick black lines going from the top of my forehead and tapering off near my chin when I was in what I guess was sage mode but I have not been able to keep it active for long.

Sage mode also started to heal my eyes although slowly but it has started healing. Not only that but using mongekuo sharingan doesn't seem to do more damage when im in sage mode either. I just need to master my sage mode then I can use my mongekuo as freely as I wish the only down side is that while in sage mode my eyes a in a permanent sharingan state I can not turn them off. I can activate and turn off mongekuo sharingan but my regular sharingan would not fade away while in sage mode.

The last two weeks our little group has heard rumors of a group of people hiding out in a village in the middle of a small mountain range. The rumors also told of the people belonging to the rebellion and that any who go there die but knowing the people talking about it they probably went to kill the rebellion members, So we set out towards where the rumors had told the village to be. Last night we had gotten close but were stopped by a snow storm luckly we had found a cave not far from us were we took shelter and thats whats been happening as of late.

"Has the storm passed Haku"

"Yeah it passed a few hours ago but mom told me to let you rest alittle more"

"Thanks now that's get going, where's you mom right now?"

"Shes waiting out side lets go" grabing my hand Haku dragged me out of the cave. Walking through the snow I couldnt help but shiver even with the warmer clothes we had stolen from the last town we had gone in. "Shiko-chan, Haku-chan are you ready to go" yumi asked while smiling at both of us.

Both of the Yuki girls weren't bothered by the cold because of there blood line which made me a bit jealous but that life i guess. "Yeah let's get going we should arrive at the village before noon if we keep a fast pace" i answered her while taking the rear and Haku the front of our group.

~~Time skip 3 hours~~

The last 3 hours have been slow and boring all there was around us for miles was snow but a few minutes ago we had come to the top of a hill and what we saw was beautiful. There were snow white walls around a compound full of buildings. With our destination in sight our group set into high gear walking through the snow at a faster pace.

"Halt what business do you have here speak or we'll attack!" Yelled out a guard from on top the wall when we got close.

"Please don't me and my children are looking for shelter"

"Stay were you are we will have someone come and speak to you and no sudden movement" the guard said back to us while he moved away.

While we waited i could see that Yumi had a sad look on her face looking around. "Yumi-san is there somthing wrong?"

"Hmm no theres nothing wrong Shiko-chan its just that, do you see that symbol on the wall" she pointed out a symbol of a snowflake on the wall.

"This used to be a Yuki clan hideout it seems like, maybe there is a few of our clans men left" Yumi had a hopeful look apon her face.

A couple of minutes later the front gate opened and three poeple walked out and faced us. "Hello I am Terumī Mei, the guys behind me are momochi Zabuza and Ao we are the current leaders of the rebellion. What can we help you with" said may as she crossed her arms and watched us intensely. Zabuza had a hand on his sword and Ao simply stared at us.

"Hello Mei-san I am Yuki Yumi, this is my child Yuki Haku and our companion Yorokobi Shiko. We are looking for a safe place to live and we heard about this place being safe for people with blood lines"

"Yes that is the case come on inside and we will talk further" may replyed leading us inside with Ao while Zabuza took up the rear, watching us with vigilance making sure we don't try anything.

While walking through the small village i could see both shinobi and Civilians watching us as we went through. Our destination seem to be a the central building in the compound, making it inside we were taken into a meeting room. Me, Haku and Yumi sat on one side while Mei, Ao and Zabuza took the other.

"Why dont we start with what has happened to you and why you decide to come here" Mei asked us.

"Alright I suppose that's fare" Yumi proceeded to tell her and Haku's story up untell this point. The three ex-mist ninja kept straight faces but you could see sympathy in there eyes if you looked.

"I see you have been delt a rough had in life. I will let you two stay here but I must ask you if you would join the fight, having ninja from the Yuki clan would aid us well" Mei said while leaning forward in her seat.

"I dont want to fight if I don't have to Mei-san. How about you Haku-chan would you like to join the fight, i would rather you not but it up to you" Yumi said while looking at Haku in concern.

"Momma I want to fight, I don't want others to go through what we have so i will fight" Haku replied with conviction in her eyes.

"And that leaves you Shiko-san what is your story" Mei asked looking intensely at me.

"I haven't completely told you both the story of how I got to your front door" I said to the Yukis

"But I will tell you, I will tell you the whole story" I then proceeded to tell them everything from the nine tails attack to Danzos betrayal.

"So your saying that you are a Uchiha that has been manipulated from birth by Danzo of the leaf and when you found out you attacked then left"

"Yes that's the short version I guess" i replied. The Yuki's had tears in there eyes while they had listened to my own story.

"Shiko-san will you help us in our goals" Asked Mei

"I will help you on one condition"

"Hmm and what is it"

"That you help me kill Shimura Danzo of the leaf" I snarled with a sneer on my face and my Sharingan activating subconsciously.
