11 Chapter 10: The academy

The next day mom had woken me up early so I could get ready and eat before we had to leave for the entrance ceremony. Getting up from my bed i had gone to the bathroom to do my daily necessities before going to the dining room. Our new house had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a small dining/living room.

"Good morning sweetheart do you mind helping me cook breakfast" mom had asked when I came into the kitchen. She was standing at the stove with her crutches next to her.

"Not at all mom" i answered her while grabing a stool so I could reach the counter top.

After our breakfast mom and I got ready to leave. I put on my new ninja clothes while grabing my bag of school supplies and met mom at the front entrance.

"Ready to get going Shiko-chan"

"Yeah I'm alittle nervous but still excited"

"Dont be nervous just try to make some new friends and remember focus not slack off and you'll be fine" mom smiled at me while petting my head. Fixing my hair we headed to the academy for my first day of school.

Making our way to the academy mom and I had settled into a contrable silence, Looking around the life had started to the streets of the hidden leaf. I would still get a few looks here and there because of the attack that happened months ago but they had lessened quite a bit from before. The one thing that I had forgotten was that the academy was connected to the hokages office.

Arriving at the main gate of the academy we saw a crowd was formed around a stage which was empty at the moment. Looking around i could see some Uchiha kids with there parents, a Inuzuka girl with her mom and a Hyuga boy with his parents as well. All of them were in a small group not interacting but separate from the Civilian born children. I was the youngest one there at almost three years old while the rest mostly seemed 8 except for one of the Uchiha kids, i think that the boy is Itachi but i would wait to see if that's true

Not 10 minutes of wait later did the third hokage step onto the stage and start his speech. It consisted of how the attack had delt a great blow to our village and we were going to become shinobi that would defend our village and the will of fire. Not to much after that did the third step down and let the teachers call there students for there classes. Ignoring most of the the classes untill i was called

"Uchiha Itach, Uchiha Izumi, Inuzuka Hana, Hyuga Yami and Yorokobi Shiko please follow me" the beginning of our class list were kids that I didn't know but the last few names I knew well except for the Huga. Saying my good byes to mom I walked with the rest of the class following our new sensei.

Walking into a big classroom our teacher told us to have a seat while he wrote on the chalk board at the front. Looking around at the seats kods were taking seats at the middle and front so i decided to sit at the back luckly I got the corner seat. To my right was Hana Inuzuka and infront of me sat Izumi Uchiha to her right was Itachi. We didn't get a chance to interduce ourselves before our sensei started to talk.

"Hello my new little students I am Daikoku Funeno or Funeno sensei for you guys. Why don't we go around the room and interduce ourselfs to start with hmm" sensei said while rubbing his hands together and a wide grin on his face.

So we interduced ourselves to the entire class. After everyone had gone including Hana, Izami, Yami and Itachi it was my turn. Everyone was staring at me noticing for the first time how young I was.

"My name is Yorokobi Shiko and I like my mom and training, I dislike people who think they are better then everyone else and bullys. My dream for the future is to become strong enough to protect my love ones."

Finishing up our interdictions sensei had given us a test to do on basic subjects like math, reading and writing. The first one done was Itachi which was not that surprising, the second amd third were Hana then Izami followed by Yami Handing in my test after them. When we had all finished up our tests sensei let us go and have lunch outside.

Walking outside the building I had forgotten to pack lunch so I wouldn't be eating today. Thats what i had thought but not 10 minutes after I sat down under a tree did Hana come over and start talking to me.

"Yorokobi-san right"

"Yeah and your Inuzuka-san what can I do for you?"

"Do you mind if i sit and eat with you Yorokobi-san" Hana asked while holding her lunch box behind her and leaning forward smiling down at me.

"I dont mind I guess" I answered after Hana sat down next to me and she proceeded to eat while watching the other kids. "Dont you have somthing to eat Yorokobi-san? Asked Hama while look over at me sitting next to her.

"Not i forgot to pack a lunch today"

"Would you like some of mine"

"Its okay Inuzuka-san you really don't have to share I'll be fine."

"Are you sure i insiste" Hana said while moving her lunch between us as she smirked at me when my stomach decided to grawl.

"Sigh fine I guess I'll have a little then thank you Inuzuka-san"

"Your welcome and you can call me Hana if you want im not one for formalitys." Hana said while continuing to eat.

"Then you could call me Shiko then Hana-san"

Throughout the remainder of launch we talked getting to know each other. I had learned a bit about here while I told here about why I was in the academy so young because she was curious. After my little stories I was surprised at how accepting she was about my situation.

After lunch we had resumed class in which we did our physical tests. I made sure to be around Hanas level of physicality not to strong like Itachi and not to weak. After that we ended our first school day and went to the front gate once agian where i saw mom waiting for me with a smile on her face. Runing over to her I look around and find Hana and give her a wave when ours eyes meet before leaving.

While walking home mom asked me about my day which I said was good and that i had fun today. "I see you also made a new friend im proud of you sweetheart" mom said while ruffling my hair. Continuing our walk home i smile at mom 'things are starting to get interesting' i think while planning what I'd be doing from now on.
