Not what he thought

Slowly gaining his vision, realizing he's sat down on a chair, tied to it. He slowly shakes his head to wake himself up. He opened his eyes wide, his vision slowly regaining focus. His heartbeat was steady and his breathing was normal. He hears breathing to his right and he looks over. Laura was sitting next to him. Her face was quite red, her breathing was quite fast-paced. Dan looked around him and the entire room was white. It was like Jon's Black Abyss but instead, it's white.

"Oooohh, you're awake." The man said. He was about ten meters away from the two.

"Who're you?" Dan asks

"Who am I? Hmm... Who am I?" The man mocked.

"..."

"Shujin. That's my name." He answered

"Shujin, what do you want?" Dan asks

"I need info about a sorcerer. The Manipulator, ring any bells?" He asked casually

"No." Dan denied immediately

"What about you, princess?" Shujin looks at Laura

Laura was nervous, she'd know to do nothing. So she nodded, slowly.

Faster than a second, the moment Laura blinks and opened her eyes, Shujin was in front of her. His face was very close to hers. She jumps, and she was surprised.

"So?"

"Back o-" Shujin covered Dan's mouth with his palm

"What do you know about him?" Shujin asks

"H-H-He wears a b-blue mask. A-And he has a ring that manipulates g-g-gravity." She answered what she knew

Shujin puts his hand away from Dan's mouth. He glances over at him. Dan noticed that the eyes and mouth on Shujin's mask were like an actual face. The pupils move as Shujin looks around, the mouth moves when he talks and changes expression.

"Dan, right?" Shujin called

"How'd you know my name?" He answered with a question

Shujin pulls out Dan's phone from his jacket pocket. He turns it on and had it faced toward Dan. A text from Sam. He was calling Dan by his name.

"Now, I want you to tell me about The Manipulator." Shujin repeated

"I already told you, I don't know." Dan's answer was the same

"The truth, hidden. Curtained by lies." Shujin said as his mask grinned all the way to the edges

"Fuck are you saying?" Dan was getting annoyed

"You're related to him. Yet you don't know it. You're oblivious to it." Shujin added

"What?" Dan became confused

"Lived with only your mother, I presume?" Shujin presumed

"..." Dan stayed silent

"Your father is The Manipulator." Shujin revealed

something Dan would never have thought to hear in his life. Though it was more of that he would never hear anything about his father in general. He doesn't want anything to do with his dad, he left him and his mom.

"Are you fucking with me?" Dan doesn't trust Shujin

"The ring he wields is somehow connected to his DNA. And the traces of that ring is on you." Shujin said

"How?" Dan confused

"Magic Artefacts that are Supreme-Rank have abilities you can't even begin fathom." He said as he slides his hand on his mask

"So, what? You want the ring, right?"

"Yes, that ring is only one of three, I've already found one."

"What do you want with it?"

"Hehehe... You'll see soon enough. In fact, you'll be a part of it, if you survive that is."

"What the fuck do you mean by that?"

Shujin then placed both his hand on Dan and Laura's forehead and surged electricity to their heads, knocking them out.

BLACK ROOM

"Dan."

"Jon."

"You need to find out more about The Manipulator. You have what you need to find out more."

"Do you know him?"

Jon paused for a moment, "No." He answered.
