3 The Rescues and Recruites

"Hurry, get in!" Yelled, Shiroi Karisu.

Zodain picked up Macy and Mark and held them close to his chest as he began running. The car and shouting attracted the attention of the infected and they began walking into the alley, making Shiroi Karisu role her window up. She then drove out of the alleyway.

"Shi-Shi, no come back!" Screamed Zodain, desperately.

Macy and Mark began crying.

"I-I'm... s-scared," said Macy, between sobs.

Then all of a sudden Shiroi Karisu's car drove back in to the alleyway and swerved her car to the side so she would run over all of the infected.

'Vicious,' thought Zodain.

He then ran up to the car on the passenger's side and got in, quickly closing the door behind him and locking it. He put the kids in the back seat and Macy buckled herself in with Mark in her lap as Shiroi Karasu drove out of the alleyway and Zodain buckled in.

"How'd you find me?" Asked Zodain.

Shiroi Karusi drove up on the sidewalk to get to the other side of the street to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

"I had just gone grocery shopping. I always drive by that alleyway. I saw you and went to rescue you from the zombies," she said, quickly glancing at Zodain.

"Wait.... what?! Zombies?! Thait's a bit of a statement!"

"No, it's true! Turn on the radio station. On all of the stations they've been announcing the same thing in seven different languages for the past hour."

Zodain turned on the radio to hear the announcment.

"Ladies and gentlemen we interrupt your normal broadcasting, to bring to you this important message. There have been reports of people coming back from the dead at funerals and attacking people; also reports of people getting bitten and then biting people themselves. We have reason to beileve that these are zombies, if bitten by one, admitedly cut off the place you were bitten, you have up to one hour to remove it, if bitten in a vital place, please distance yourself from others or kill yourself, with a gunshot wound to the head, or find another way to do it, but it must go through the BRAIN. Please stay indoors, the military and police force will try their best to rescue others," announced a robotic Male voice.

"Oh, damn, so it is true," said Zodain.

"Told you," said Shiroi Karasu.

Just then Zodain's smart phone rang and he got it out of his pocket. "Hey, Richard. Are you alright?" He asked, concerned.

"Yeah, man. I got over to your place and your roommate tried to bite me, I told him I wasn't in to that kind of stuff, but he didn't get the memo. I ran upstairs and locked myself in your bedroom and he's been banging on the door so I called the police, but the line was busy. Can you beileve that? So I thought my best bet would be to get a hold of you. I'm sensing some very negative vibes from him," said Richard.

"Don't worry, I'll come for you. Stay in the room," said Zodain.

"I really have to use the bathroom. I think I could run past him."

"No! Just try to hold it. I'll explain everything once I get there. Keep the door LOCKED."

"Mmm... maybe your right. I'm pretty high, so my reflexes are pretty slow. I think I'll just lay on your bed and fall asleep. Bring me some food when you come over, please? 'Cause I got the munchies."

"No! I need you to stay awake and be ready to go!"

"Relax, it'll only be for five minutes."

Zodain grumbled and hung up.

"Saving Richard?" Asked Shiroi Karasu.

"Yup. He's at my place, I live in Middle Villiage Apartments, residential."

"Sixety-two, seventy-two, eighty-first Street."

"How'd you know that?"

"Oh, I-."

A short Caucasian man about thirty, with dirty blonde pompadour hair, five o'clock shadow, a hipster mustache, and piercing blue eyes, his skin was a golden tan skin, black thick rimmed glasses, plaid shirt, blue jeans, and a brown cow boy boots in a ran up to the car, making Shiroi Karasu stop the car.

"Please, let me in! Help me!" The man pleaded, his hands banging on the window on the passenger's side of the window.

Zodain quickly unlocked the car door as zombies were right on the man's tail, then Zodain slammed the door behind him and locked it.

"Thank you, so much," said the man.

He climbed into the backseat as Shiroi Karasu sped her to Zodain's apartment.

"You know..... your voice sounds familiar," said Zodain.

"Your does too," said the man.

"Wait, didn't you call the Tomco company because there was blood on your styrofoam cups?"

"Yeah, hey that is! Huh, oh man, it's the end of the world. Thought I be long dead when this eventful day would occur. My name is Claude. What's your name, handsome?"

"Zodain."

"We're here, put in the passcode," said Shiroi Karasu.

Zodain looked around for any zombies he saw a group of them surround a woman near the intersection as cars zoomed by, he knew he wouldn't be able to save her, so he turned back and put in the passcode as the woman screamed. The loud noise of the buzzer got a few of the zombies attention and they started running towards them. Zodain quickly retracted his arm back into the car and rolled up the window. Shiroi Karasu sped into the gated community, the gates closed just before any additional zombies could get in. She drove up to a big red brick building.

"Alright, this is it. Let's go," said Shiroi Karasu.

"Wait..." Said Zodain.

"We don't have time to waste!"

"I need to go in by myself."

"What?! Why?!"

"I know the place well, know every little cranny in that place the zombie could've gone to.... Just trust me..."

Zodain took Shiroi Karasu's hand in his and looked into her eyes. Zodain got out of the car, then went to the building. He walked down the black hallway until he got to his room number. He got his key out of his pocket and unlocked his door. Admitedly when he got in he noticed a long trail of blood. He went into the beautiful spacious black kitchen kitchen he walked into the corner of the room and went to his safe by his clear white glass table, covered by a red table cover, he pulled up the cover and put the combination in and opened the safe and got out a AK-40.

"Time to save Richard," he said.

He got out of the kitchen and walked down the hallway and saw his roommate who was now a zombie in front of his bedroom door scratching at his door, trying to get to Richard.

"Yo, Ben!" Shouted Zodain.

The zombie turned to Zodain and began charging towards him.

He shot Ben straight through the head which made him instantly fall to the floor. Zodain began hysterically laughing.

"Damn, that was hella fun! Richard it's safe to come out now!"

Richard opened the door cautiously.

"Aw, dude, did you really have to kill him? Couldn't you have just hugged him?" Asked Richard.

"Dude, he's a zombie."

"He's a what?!"

Zodain then told Richard what he heard on the radio.

"I don't know if I could bring myself to kill one.... even if they already are dead," said Richard.

"Hate to break it to you, but you might just have to."

"I did like Ben more when he was fifteen and sixteen."

Zodain gently pat Richard on the back, Richard just shrugged him off.

"He was a good kid," said Richard.

Richarda began crying. He fell down to his knees and cradled Ben's face against his chest.

"We have to go," said Zodain, while looking around himself paranoid.

"Rest in peace, Ben. Zodain, help me take him to his bedroom, so I can lay him to rest."
