Chapter 2: Alive Again!

"A lost soul!" yelled a woman excitedly.

"Who? Me?" responded Quint as he turned around. His eyes met with hers and traveled to the rest of her body. He saw a magnificent figure cloaked in a warm, golden light. Her body was slender and toned hair was golden and rested on her shoulders. "Who....who are you?" he asked.

"My name is Ariel. I'm a Celestial. I rule over this area. And you are not supposed to be dead yet." replied Ariel.

"How can that even happen?" asked Quint.

"You were not supposed to be in that alley. The robber was just gonna take the twenty dollars from the purse and leave," she stated.

"Twenty dollars?! I died for twenty dollars!" he yelled.

"Yes, now let's get on with the task at hand. You currently pose a problem for me. This has never happened. One of my duties is to guide lost spirits to the Soul World. As of right now, there is no room for you, " she said.

"You'll need to catch me before I go to this Soul World, " asserted Quint. He then flew away from her, flying across the city. Ariel chased after him. "Get back here boy!" she shouted.

"No! I won't go because of twenty dollars!" he cried out.

"You don't have an option, " she said calmly. She then motioned her hands in a circle, creating a gold circle of energy. The golden band wrapped around Quint and bound him. "What is this?! Let me go!" he yelled.

"Only if you agree to come with me," she replied.

"Ok, I'll go with you, " he said with a smile.

"You're lying. Do you think you're the first to try to lie to me?" she asked.

"It was worth a try," He said to himself. Quint took a deep breath. He tensed up his body and began trying to free himself from the bind. Ariel watched him in amazement as his efforts start to rip the ring apart. He broke free and flew off again.

"This kid is special, " she thought while watching him fly away.

Three days had passed. Quint continued to evade Ariel. He flew over to his home and floated down into the house. He had constantly watched over his grieving mother. She could feel his presence whenever he came to visit. His little sister was back home also from boarding school.

"Mom, you have to eat today, " said Quint's sister.

"Shay, I can't eat. Not when one of my children is dead. This is a parent's worse nightmare. And it doesn't help that I can still feel him around here, " answered Mary.

"Strangely, I feel him too, " stated Shay, "but he died a hero like Dad." Mary began crying aloud uncontrollably.

Quint floated back into the sky. Ariel was floating there waiting on him. "I want to live, Ariel, " said Quint.

"That's why I've been trying to catch to for the past 2 days. I was ordered to give you life, on one condition. You work for me, " responded Ariel.

Quint stared at her for a moment. "Is that even possible?" he inquired.

"Yes, that is well within my powers, " she answered.

"What will I have to do?" he asked.

"Kill demons for me!" she responded. Ariel raised her hands and a blinding light shot from her palms.

Quint's eyes opened. He was lying in an open casket. "I'm alive!" he exclaimed! He rose from the casket and jumped onto his feet. " What did she say about demons?!" thought Quint.
