6 CHAPTER 6

Kayla's POV

We all spent the next 20 minutes splashing each other with the water. I was laughing so hard a little bit of water got into my mouth causing me to start choking. I was immediately lifted out of the water and placed down onto the concrete before Andrew started to pat my back. After a couple of minutes I stopped choking. I decided that it was time to sun tan for a little bit. So I walked over to one of the chairs and laid down on my back. The guys followed shortly after.

Josh: Now that you're not dying.....how do you like the pool and the house?

Me: I love it, the bedrooms are huge. The food is amazing, and as for the pool, it is perfect to say the least.

Everyone laughed when I said that. Probably because you could hear the excitement in my voice when I said it. All four of us continued to sun tan and talk about our lives at home. I found out that Andrew has one older sister and two younger brothers. His sister was already paired up with someone. I don't know how she got through this without mental trauma. I think out of all three of them Krane has had the hardest life. Krane lost his mother when she gave birth to his youngest sister. Krane basically raised his siblings. His youngest sister grew depressed as she got older because of their mothers passing. When she was only 12 years old, his youngest sister committed suicide. This broke everyone's heart but the one that hurt the most was Krane's father. He had lost his wife and his youngest child. Krane basically raised his two other siblings. He had a 14 year old brother and a 13 year old sister. His father was no help after the death of the youngest. All he did was drink all day and night till the day he died when Krane was only 17. Both of his siblings were happily paired with someone. Krane was the only one left. His past explains why his personality is so serious. You can't blame him though. Before we knew it the maid came to tell us lunch was ready. Since I was dry now, I threw my clothes back on over my suit before making my way into the house and towards the dining room. As usual I sit at the head of the table while the guys sit on either side of me. I figured that lunch was going to be something fancy and over the top. I definitely wasn't wrong this time.

The hamburger looked so juicy and delicious that I couldn't help myself. Before I knew it I was shoving it into my face not trying to have any manners. After a couple bites I stopped and realized the guys were watching me with their mouths dropped to the floor. I put the burger down and wiped my mouth suddenly remembering that I was supposed to be a lady.

Me: So how is everyone's food?

I tried to change everyone's focus but I don't think it was working. Out of nowhere all three of them start laughing so hard they can't breath. At first I was embarrassed and as the laughter continued I began to get annoyed. I crossed my arms and sat there mad. They seemed to think it was cute. I wanted to fight them but I know I couldn't. So I just got up and walked back towards my room. I didn't make it very far before I felt arms wrap around my waist pulling me back. Of course it was Josh.

Josh: We are sorry. Your pout face was just adorable but we are done laughing now.

I tried to stay mad but I couldn't help the smile that appeared on my face. Out of nowhere we heard a voice come from the speakers in the ceiling.

Voice: residence please gather in the living room for plans of the next three days.

We assumed by residence they meant us. So we all walked to the living room where we found an older man standing waiting for us.

Man: I am Chris, please take a seat so we can go over the next three days.

We all sat down on the couch and chair. I sat in the middle of the couch with Andrew on my left and Josh on my right. Krane sat in the chair across from us.

Chris: As you know you four only have three days left. Four the next three days Kayla will pick one of you three each day to spend the day with so you have the opportunity to get to know each other. So Kayla, who will you pick for day one, two and three?

I had to stop and think about it before I answered.

ME: The first day will go to Josh, the second to Krane, and the final day to Andrew.

With that Chris nodded his head and left. I finally processed that we only had three days left. In reality that is a long time but when you don't want time to be up it goes by in seconds. We all decided that we needed a nap before dinner so each one of us headed to our own rooms. Once I got to mine I laid down and within seconds I was fast asleep.

Krane's POV

I got to my room and sat at the end of my bed thinking. The more time I spent with her the more I cared for her. I don't understand why, she is a stranger. Yet for some reason I feel so connected to her. The worst part is that I not only have to fight for her but try and survive at the same time. I hope that I am the winner in the end but if I'm not at least I know the only family I have left is happy and have someone to protect them in my absence. I got under the covers on my bed and got comfortable. I will never understand how I can care so much about a girl I have known for 24 hours. Maybe it was because she looked like an older version of my youngest sister. Since the day I lost Aria I have had a hole in my heart. Then I laid eyes on Kayla and that hole got a little smaller. I will always carry a little bit of guilt for my sister's death. Many have told me it was no fault of my own but I was raising her. I should have noticed. I have tried to move on and have a normal life but my past has made me the person I am now. So if I do win, I really hope Kayla can accept me for who I am. If I don't, I wish her the happiness we all want and deserve. With that thought I slowly started to close my eyes. Every second my eyes got heavier and heavier. Till they closed and I drifted off into a deep sleep.
