66 Shen He

Lu Fengyi held up his hands in a pacifying gesture. While the girl seemed quite slender and did not have any obvious muscle mass, the punch that he had just suffered was not joke. Even if he were to punch with his full force, lifting someone of his weight off the floor with just the force of the punch itself would be near impossible, not to mention the fact that she had accomplished it in an awkward position.

Seeing the girl raise her fist again, Lu Fengyi paled in fright, "Wait, wait, wait! There's some misunderstanding here!"

"Hmph, do you think I have no experience? That's what all muggers say!" the girl shouted.

"What do you mean, all muggers? How many times have you been mugged?"

"That's none of your business. Now confess, why were you trying to mug me?" realising her exaggeration, the girl blushed slightly, however she pressed on with a determined face.

Feeling exasperated, Lu Fengyi responded with a wry grin, "If I was actually a mugger, I'd be mugging you for the sake of mugging you alright? If you can't tell already, I'm not a mugger."

"Then... why the hell were you carrying me across the hallway?"

Reflexively, Lu Fengyi looked towards the hallway before realising that almost everyone that was passing by had surrounded him and the girl in a semicircle, watching the proceedings with weird faces.

"Is he a mugger?"

"It seems to be so. Otherwise, why else would that girl beat him down."

"I guess we should be very careful of him then."

Face burning with embarrassment, Lu Fengyi stood up quickly before grabbing the girl by her hand and leading her out of the encirclement. Confused comments ran through the forming audience, however Lu Fengyi ignored them, directly pulling the girl towards whatever direction seemed the least suspicious.

"Hey! What are you doing?" the girl cried.

"Just follow me. I'll explain in a bit..." Lu Fengyi spotted what seemed like a cafe before hurrying over and sitting the girl down at an empty table.

After hastily purchasing two coffees to seem as casual as possible, Lu Fengyi strode over before sitting down opposite to the girl and handing her one of the coffees.

"Ahem, let me introduce myself first. My name is Lu Fengyi, what's yours?" Lu Fengyi asked as calmly as possible.

The girl looked at him incredulously before taking a sip of the coffee, exhaling lightly in appreciation. Lu Fengyi stared oddly at the scene, "Um, do you not want to tell me..."

The girl placed a finger up for silence before taking another sip of the coffee, "Question."

Slightly surprised at the turn of events, Lu Fengyi nodded, indicating for the girl to go ahead.

Placing her coffee down upon the table, the girl moved her eyes to look at Lu Fengyi before asking softly, "Are you by any chance, trying to hit on me?"

Lu Fengyi almost feel off his chair as he heard the line. Trying to hit on you? Who the hell would be trying to hit on you? I just wanted to explain myself, when did it become me hitting on you?

Showing an awkward grin, Lu Fengyi responded, "Why do you think that?"

The girl lifted an eyebrow, "Why else would you buy me Star Raising Coffee? You know it's supposed to be meant for couples and lovers, right?"

Feeling the urge to spit a mouthful of blood, Lu Fengyi remembered how the barista had winked at him when he handed over the two coffees, 'Shit! How the hell was I supposed to know that this coffee had some special meaning behind it?'

"Uh, actually. I'm new to this system, so I don't know much about anything. In fact, that's the reason why I was carrying you." Lu Fengyi explained.

Almost instantly, the girl's face cleared of all suspicion and the odd look that she had been flashing disappeared as well, "You're a newbie? No wonder you didn't clear out from the docking zone. I'm assuming that the old man told you to carry me to somewhere safer?"

Lu Fengyi heaved a sigh of relief before answering, "Yes, I'm a newbie. The official from before told me to take you around until you fully recovered. Judging by your punching strength, I assume that you're alright now."

"Yes. Anyways, before we talk any further, my name is Shen He and I've been a user of the Fictional Transcension System for over two years now. By fame alone, I am not much, however I have completed a fair bit of the advanced achievements during the more recent months." Shen He activated her interface before continuing, "Since you were kind enough to buy my a Star Raising Coffee, how about we add each other as friends. You know how to do that right?"

Lu Fengyi nodded before taking out his own interface. With a click of the accept button, which had just popped up, Lu Fengyi had now two friends on his friends list.

"Oh! Before I forget, what did you get in your tutorial?" Shen He reached forwards towards Lu Fengyi's interface to look.

"Get? Like items?" Lu Fengyi asked in confusion.

'Haha, of course I don't mean items. How could I pry into such a private topic?" Shen He chuckled before continuing, "What I mean is the score you got for the tutorial. At the end of every single world you visit, you'll obtain an overall score based on your performance inside the world, the amount of relationships you made and the influence you had on the novel."

Understanding dawned upon Lu Fengyi as he remembered how each of his quests would have an evaluation mark when he completed them. It seemed that the entire world was the same as well.

Lu Fengyi gave a confident smile before answering, "I'm decently confident in my score."

"Oh? We'll have to see about that." Shen He smiled before tapping upon Lu Fengyi's world log. Flashing open with a mostly white screen except for a single log, Shen He clicked upon the information page before staring in shock and covering her mouth in laughter.

Creasing his brows together, Lu Fengyi turned the interface around before looking at the information page. Name, date, world, evaluation!

=====================

Evaluation - D+

====================

If the interface was tangible, it would have dropped from Lu Fengyi's hands and shattered upon the floor at that moment. From what the system had told him before, the ranks worked like the grades teachers would give in schools, and he had gotten a D+. What did that mean? That could only mean that he had done so bad that his evaluation was of the third lowest rank.

'Why is the score so low?' Lu Fengyi quickly asked the system.

[ Huh? You're really clueless, you know? Not only did you not achieve anything in terms of advancing the story line, you also revealed your identity for no reason and you didn't even try to destroy much in the world. Getting a D+ at this point is already quite generous ]
