Part Thirteen

Throughout the rest of the weekend Devon and I just stayed in and hung out while our moms kept asking us questions. Next thing I knew, it was Monday. I woke up and got dressed for another day at school.

When I finished getting dressed my window flew open. I went to my window and Devon climbed in. "We are taking my car today" he said as he was grabbing my book bag on his way downstairs and I said to myself "okay?".

I went downstairs and Devon threw a pop tart at me and went out the door. How the hell did he know I was going to eat a pop tart. Weird.

Anyways I grabbed my keys to my house and went out the door and Devon was already in his car. I got in the car and he drove us to school. We walked into school and went to class.

The school day was kind of boring and I was glad the school day finally ended. Devon got me after school and we drove home. We got home and we separated. I grabbed the mail and went inside. I went to my room and threw my bag on my bed.

I looked through the mail and saw that all the mail was for me from colleges. Devon, Brendan, Isa and I applied to the same colleges in the beginning of the school year. I opened all the letters from the New York colleges and I was accepted into all of them then I saw the letter from Florida State College.

I was nervous about this letter because I really want to go to Florida State. I slowly opened the letter and closed my eyes. I hope I got in. I looked at the letter and my eyes widened. "I got in" I said to myself "I got in" and I kept repeating that saying. Then I screamed out of excitement "AHHHHHH".

I was so happy. I began to jump up and down. I was so happy that I didn't hear my window open and Devon coming through it. He just stared at me for a moment and then said "someone's happy". I stop jumping real quick and turned around. I was embarrassed.

"Did you get the letters from the colleges" he asked and I answered "yes including the one from Florida State". "And what did the letter say" he asked and I screamed "I GOT ACCEPTED".

He face lit up. "No way" he said and I said "yes way" and walked to me and gave me a quick peck on my lips and hugged me. "I guess we will have to find a place to live in Florida then" he said and my eyes widened and I looked at him and asked" "you got in?" and he said as he took out the letter out of his back pocket, "I got in".

I was so happy, I started jumping up and down again. Devon was laughing at me and said "down girl" as he began to pet my head and I swatted his hand away and said "I'm not a dog". He kept laughing and I punched him in the shoulder. "We have to find out if Anaisa and Brendan got in" I said and he nodded.

Then all of a sudden my phone started to ring. It was Anaisa. I answered the phone and out of nowhere someone began to scream on the phone. It wasn't on speaker and even Devon thought it was loud.

When the screaming finally stopped, she said "I GOT IN. I GOT IN TO FLORIDA STATE AHHHH!" When she said those words I started to scream myself "AHHHHH SHE GOT IN" then I started to get another call. It was Brendan.

"Hold on Anaisa, Brendan is calling on the other line I'll go three way" and she said "okay" and I put the call on three way. I said "hello" on the phone then I heard yelling. "I GOT IN TO FLORIDA STATE" Brendan said and me and Anaisa took a moment to think then we both started to scream. "WE ALL GOT IN TO FLORIDA STATE AHHH". "We have to go celebrate" Anaisa said and I said "yes" and Brendan said "who wants Five Guys" and Isa and I both said "Hell Yeah" and I said "see you guys pick us up in an hour" and hung up.

I looked at Devon who was practically dying laughing on the floor and said "you are weirdo" and he said "yes but I'm your weirdo". I rolled my eyes and he got up from the floor. "So are we going out to celebrate?" he asked and I said "yup We are going to Five Guys in an hour so go and get cleaned up".

I pushed him out of my room and locked the door. I went ahead and took a shower and got dressed. I heard a horn from a car outside and it was Isa. I ran downstairs and out the door to Isa's car. Devon ran out his door and got in the car. We drove to Five Guys and had a good celebration. I can't believe we are graduating in a couple weeks and going to Florida State together. It's going to be awesome.

A month went by after we found out we were accepted into Florida State. During that month we sorted out our arrangements of what we will do. We have decided that all 4 of us will move into a house in Florida and so it would be less money.

We already found a house that we could afford and big enough for all of us and it was perfect. We also played some football games and we went to the championships and won and we even went to prom. Also during that month I started going to marching band rehearsals for the Erie County Fair.

This year was going to be sad because it's not only the last year of high school it's also my last year at marching band. I was for sure going to miss everybody when I leave,but I didn't want to think about that now. I want to just stay in the present and wait until the future comes.
