12 First Demon Hunt: Luring The Anomaly/Assailant (1)

"Elder Wade, all due respect, we are not cold blooded killers. Yes, we hunt demons for a living but only to protect the weak. This includes non-hostile demons as well. Not all demon holds malicious intent towards humans. To them we are just another source of food. Just like how some wild animals are a food source for us humans. We cannot change the course of nature of this land," the older hunter stated firmly and direct to the point with a calm composure in response to the elder's anger.

"Elder, sir I know this is not what you want to hear, but we are here to help you not create more conflict," the young female hunter added honestly, although feeling a bit displeased with the old man's outburst.

"Fine! Then how do you plan to find out the identity of these creatures? Do you expect me to allow another one of our precious females to be sacrifice just, so you can get the information you need?" scuffed the village elder feeling the anger within him raising again.

"Yes, the elder is right. We can't just stand here doing nothing while our women are being targeted!" shouted village elder's aid in an aggravated tone.

"Elder, sir asking these people for help is a waste of time. I reckon we go find this alleged demon ourselves, by searching the nearby forests. I'm positive we can easily locate these devious creature, since we now know the characteristic of the creature, due to the one we already eliminated. This way we can relocate and eliminate them all," declared one of the villager's hunter that has grown impatient with these so-called 'demon hunters'. As a hunter himself he felt hunting for demons seemed as simple as hunting any other wild animal.

Bruce released a heavy sighed in response to such idiocy. "That's not going to work. First rule in tracking, you should always know what you are tracking. If the creature is indeed an Orc, you will be slaughter in seconds. Normal humans are not a match for that type of beastly and barbaric demon. Imagine taking on a figure that is as large and ferocious as a bear, yet smarter than your average human. They are cunning and brutal creatures," the older hunter explain with a stern and informative tone.

"I believe that's stretching the truth too much. There's no possible way such a creature actually exists in this world. Plus, the creature that was killed was only a bit mutated. Something must be wrong with your eyes to think it resemble that of a bear," uttered the same village's hunter with a hint of mockery in his voice.

Most of the other villagers felt the same way, yet they were not brave enough to speak, especially with such arrogance in front of the villager elder's guests. The heroic father and the village elder, on the other hand, understood that what the older demon hunter said could be possible and could only shake their heads at the stupidity of the outspoken village's hunter. Clearly these creatures were formidable anomalies with unnatural abilities, which is why they needed the demon hunters help, and yet this imbecile would not shut up.

The village elder opened his mouth to quiet his hunter, but was beaten by the young lady standing.

"Sir, no disrespect, but you are just a run-of-a-mill hunter. You are not a trained DEMON hunter. If you could handle this case on your own, we would not be here to help. My uncle is trying his best to gather information to help you and your people. We do not have to aid you in your problem if we don't want to. Now, if you choose to ignore our warning and head out on your own and a tragedy occurs, your village cannot hold us accountable," the young female hunter stated honestly with a touch of coldness in her voice.

The outspoken village's hunter did not appreciate being reprimanded by such a young girl, thus his face distorted in anger, "Girl, the adults are talking, so how about you keep your m.....," the man began to roar at the young female hunter, until he noticed a sudden chill blanketing his whole entire body, which caused the rest of his sentence to be choked back.

Within the village elder's living room, the surrounded area became heavy and stiff upon noticing the disposition of the older hunter. His eyes contained a murderous and dark glint. While his lips were hooked up in a malicious smirk as he fiddled with a knife in his left hand.

"Someone wants to lose their tongue? As long we were talking business, I ignored your crude behavior, yet you actually have the nerve to talk down to the young Miss. You clearly don't want our help nor that piece of flesh that keeps flapping within the carve you call a mouth," the older hunter spoke calmly and concise without even putting the man in his sight, while he moved the knife's handle between his fingers.

Everyone looked at each other with an ashen complexion. The village could not afford to offend the demon hunters. Although they were dissatisfied, with the method that was chosen to solve their present problem, their people still needed these demon hunter's aide. Therefore, the village elder wanted to offer a few words once again to calms down the situation, but was stopped by a heavenly voice.

"Uncle Bruce, no need to anger yourself over such a trivial matter. I was not offended in the slightest. I was only speaking the honest truth. We do have other clients, so we don't have to stay here and listen to them barking at us like we are children," said the young female hunter as she smiled over at the middle-aged man.

The older hunter retracted his murderous aura, restoring his mood to its previous state. He took a deep breathe, then return his knife to the holster on his arm. "Yes, my dear. You are right. So, village elder are we gonna do things our way or are you going to allow your people to be assaulted and possibly slaughtered," inquired the older hunter with a stern expression.

The room fell silent for a second, then a mixture of hostility and fear, dispersed throughout the room. After some time, the aged elder broke the tension within the room.

"Everyone calmed down. I was the one whom summoned them, so I will be the first to apologize. I myself have felt agitated about the occurring events that has been plaguing our village. I want to give you my heartfelt apology. No more outbursts. We'll listen to anything you two have to say," the old man finally conceded with an open mind.

"We appreciate your complete corporation, Sir. For your own good it would be best to avoid any contact with the suspected demon. These type of demons are cruel and moody creatures. They're known for abducting women, as well as eating humans of both genders. However, like we mention before, we are not absolutely sure that we are dealing with Orcs, since they never return anything that they have already stolen. That's why we need to identify the creature true appearance, to know exactly what we're dealing with," responded the older hunter in a matter of fact like tone.

"Then what method do you suggest we use, in order to identify the creature?" asked the village elder, now showing sign of restlessness.

"We should use a woman as bait to lure one out," suggested the young female hunter.

"No! I'm willing to listening and do what's need to be done, however, I'm not okay with sacrificing anymore of our village women," proclaimed the village elder in a helpless manner.

"I agree, elder sir that's why I should be the one to stand in as bait. If I dress up like one of your village woman, they might try to take me instead," the young female hunter gracefully offered.

"Young Miss are you sure about this?" asked the older hunter, while staring at her with concern.

"Of course, Sir. I am not a child anymore. I have trained hard every day just for this type of mission. Also, don't forget about our Ace, who is an excellent tracker. You'll be able to track my where about easily," responded the young female hunter with confident.

"Alright. It should be night fall soon. I believe the young Miss plan is solid. What do you think elder?" the older hunter asked upon returning his glaze back onto the elderly man.

The village elder looked at the young lady with utter bewilderment, which soon became heartfelt admiration. "Thank you, young Miss for volunteering. You are truly brave," the village elder said with a loving smile.

"No need to thank me, Sir. I'm happy to help," the young female hunter responded politely with a heartfelt smile of her own.
