4 Thought 4-Consuming Boredom

The world is quite... boring. Not the type of boredom that hits you when you don't have anything to do for a day, but the type that eats at you and makes it hard to even get up. It breaks you down, weakens your body; drowns you in a savage hunger for more. Isn't that why we read? I love novels, all sorts of novels. Most of all I love the ones that fill you with a sense of boundless excitement, makes you feel like there are no limits to what can be discovered. The roller coasters of emotions we go through when we read a good novel stirs up something within you. That excitement that you feel, fills you with a hunger for knowledge. It's quite amazing what a novel can do to you. But, it is a novel after all; and every novel has an end. When the end comes the boredom fill you with an unending feeling of agony, that hunger is unbearable. Book after book, novel after novel, you devour the pages of a book like a starving beast. The excitement you once felt leaves you, the void replaces it. After seeing so much, you realize that even in these novels the world is limited. So many similar themes, so many similar characters, the lines between the novels blur. Those novels are so... bland to you now. Why even bother... the next one is just like the last, the first one is just like second. One dreary second after another passes, the color of the world seeps out. Everything is so gray, when did the world lose it's wonder? When did I lose my life? Some of you might have come to the end of this and realized that I wasn't talking about novels at all, what I spoke of was life. Many people had a thirst for something, and it's not the same for every person. What is similar is what will happen if you let it consume you. Gray, the world has lost it's color; how boring.
