1 Chapter 1

There was commotion in the village. There was an uproar due to someone falling in the well with the sound of 'Chhapak'. Village people from the well took out the corpse of a woman and checked her pulse. The news spread rapidly in the village that a woman had committed suicide. Everyone started worrying about the women of their respective homes. Then the watchman of the village told that

"His daughter-in-law is missing from Pandit ji's house."

Is it the daughter-in-law of Pandit ji, because no one had ever seen her face. Sometimes she used to talk to the women of the village with the veil of the veil, otherwise she used to come daily to draw water from this well and go away silently. The women of the village started whispering,

"Oh it was very simple, a lot of atrocities were happening on the poor woman. Mother-in-law was very bad."

Then the other woman said,

"Her husband was also a bastard. He used to tease the women of the village. It was because of Pandit ji that everyone used to keep silent."

Then the girl of that woman said,

"Her sister-in-law is also a bitch. she used to hit the poor lady everyday. Even after doing all the household chores, she did not give bread to her stomach. God will never do them any good."

Then the pleasant of the village came running and said among the women of the village,

"This is the wife of the same pundit's boy who killed the poor barber's boy."

The crowd started gathering but there was no one to cry for that innocent because her father had left her in-laws' house two days ago. The in-laws had informed that the husband was ill. Under the conspiracy, she was called from Pehar(Mother's house). She had come to her in-laws' house with her father along with her two-year-old. mother said while leaving

"Daughter, you may die, but your husband should be fine."

she remembered this thing of his mother very well. Father had gone back. After his departure, she was severely beaten up and was probably killed and thrown into the well. The people of the village knew the lowliness of her husband. Due to his lowly nature, he was not only suspicious but had full faith that the same people must have killed her and put her in the well or pushed her into the well. The woman's maternal uncle lived in a nearby village. Her maternal grandmother was Sent the man of the village and called her uncle. Parents were not even informed. She was cremated in the presence of her maternal uncle. Finished with all the work. Here, on the day of Makar Sankranti, dishes were being prepared in her house, but there was bitterness in those dishes. The mind of the girl's mother and father was very restless. Don't know why even the homemade dal pakoras looked bitter. Had eaten two or four but because of being bitter, they were not being eaten.
