"The murderer." Theodore spat, turning towards Litty. With a determined finger pointed toward the traumatized girl, he said, "I want her blood in exchange for the one she spilled."

"No!" Eve exclaimed, thumping a furious hand on the regent's table. "That's out of the-"

"Now, now, Eve." Nikolai interrupted, placing a soft hand on her shoulder. "I'm right here. You don't have to worry about it." He said, tapping her gently. 

She opened her mouth to say something but closed it instantly. She knew that her silence was better than any words at that moment. And the man's words were quite if at all, comforting. 

Theodore scoffed at the exchange, glaring daggers in their direction. "It is my right as the one wronged." He said, irritably. 

Nikolai nodded in agreement. "The blood of the murderer, you shall have." He said, his smile turning non-existent as he pointed towards Litty. "But this one shall not be touched."
