65 Chapter 65: About the dead servant

With every step he took, her heart fell a foot. She felt tears of anger brimming in her eyes as she remembered the night of the feast. Theodore. His impossibly perfect chin was tilted up as he strode into the room arrogantly, a trio of blue coats following him inside in haste.

How dare he. How dare he show up in front of her after what had happened? After all that he had done to her? How dare he act high and mighty? She thought, her mind raging with fury. He did not stop to acknowledge the bowing guards or the commanders. He did not care to greet his uncle. He did not spare a glance at her as he came to a stop hardly a foot away from her.

The sense of betrayal gripping her heart tightened around it, suffocating her, pushing her to scream- to lash out at him. He was just at reach of her hands. Yet she held back. She held back for the sake of the girl standing next to a bowing matron with her eyes downcast and her shoulders stooped.
