68 Heading Out

Isaiah's formation card rang, RING RING, he accepted the connection. "I have looked into what you asked of me." It was Terry on the other side of the connection.

"That's great, tell me about it.", Isaiah was genuinely curious about this other race that inhabited this planet.

"They seem to have really existed in history, however their migration happened a few centuries back. There isn't much else in the public records but I doubt the Empires' are letting them off that easily. If you could look through secret files you probably would find more information regarding them."

"Hmm, could you help me with that? Not for free, of course." Isaiah responded to Terry, thinking he was putting forth a deal without completely wording it out. However he was wrong mostly due to him not being able to sense Terry's tone through text easily.

Terry couldn't help but sigh, "I don't have much connection to the Royal Palace, that's my brother's field. He is pushing me away from having any connection to the Palace quite effectively"

Isaiah couldn't help but laugh at Terry's dramatic situation, "Fine then, I will hang up now." he typed and cut the connection.

He typed another number on his formation card and gave a call, "Hi there, Captain Jax, it's been a while since we last spoke.", He decided to leverage his connections to the Royal Guards.

Jax responded, "Indeed been a while but I kept hearing about your accomplishments in Second Emperor District. I heard you have completely cleaned it up from any gangs, I was wondering if it's true?"

Isaiah couldn't help but shake his head when he read Jax's message, the man was very clearly probing his intentions. Jax obviously knew the situation in the district well but the reason for his question was to probe Isaiah's intentions, asking if he was gonna continue operating the gangs as is or turn them into legitimate businesses, "Of course, no more gangs left. There can't be any gangs in my district in the first place, They have to follow my word."

Isaiah was declaring his ownership over the district but also answering Jax's worries in a single response, "That's great to hear, Second Emperor District had bothered us for so long. I'm glad you could have solved it." While Jax didn't oppose Isaiah's claim to the district he would keep a close eye on the situation.

"I wonder what was the reason for you calling, Mr. isaiah?" Jax cut the chase and got to the core of the issue.

Isaiah didn't mince his words, "I was thinking of making a donation after all the help I received from the Royal Guards, 2M GC in total." This was going close to breaking his bank but he still didn't pull back any punches, one had to seem strong when weak.

Jax was a smart man and quite familiar with the process, so he launched him an opening, "That's great. We would be more than glad to receive it. We would be glad to give you a small gift in return"

Isaiah smiled, "Well I have always been interested in forgotten races and history. I would gladly receive any information on Veridians and their home Deathsand Desert."

Jax didn't respond for a while as he had sent one of the guards to check the archives to see if there was any relevant information regarding them.

After 5 minutes two thin documents were standing in front of him, he gave the guard that passed it to him a nod and excused him. He spoke while going through the files, "Consider it done. You can send the money to Royal Bank." Unlike Mrs. Fireheart, Jax surprisingly didn't pocket the money.

There were many banking options available within the Empire, both private and government. It was actually in Isaiah's plans to open his own bank soon but this sword hilt had gotten priority over it.

"You can expect the money within the account before tomorrow afternoon.", with that said they both cut the connection.

Hours had passed as his door was knocked, "Sir, Miss Alice arrived.", Isaiah responded, "Let her in."

Alice entered his office surprisingly not in her usual body armor, "Off day?" Isaiah asked, receiving a nod from Alice, "Yeah, I'm only here due to my father's orde- I meant as a favor for him." She had accidentally got into work mode for a second.

Isaiah gestured for her to sit, which she promptly did, "I can take the money from hand if you have it ready." Alice asked, "I already delivered it to the Royal Bank" Alice couldn't help but be impressed by the man before her's business acumen.

After Isaiah finished checking the documents, he lifted his gaze to meet Alice's, who was sitting while drinking the tequila he had ordered for her. She was fully enjoying her vacation.

Isaiah spoke, "The documents are satisfactory, you can leave now if you want or after you finish your drink.", he said with a slight smile.

Alice got up from her seat but still held onto her glass, "I'm gonna play the games a bit before I leave, enjoy my holiday fully.", Isaiah chuckled, "I hope you do."

As she was about to exit his office, she looked back at him and told, "I'm sorry for my previous attitude, I didn't think a Rank 1 was up for cleaning this district but you did it."

Isaiah laughed as she saw her leave, she looked gorgeous in casual clothes, "Lily put 20k points to my guests account.", Lily immediately nodded, "Done, Sir."

He then turned his attention back to the files in front of him. There wasn't much information within these documents nor were they detailed but, the information was still a lot more than what he had in his hands. I would be a worthy investment as long as he could get his hands on that hilt.

He looked through the files, his gaze falling on a particular line, "They live in the sky? Now I have 100% to visit them" He knew that this wasn't a vacation but he was gonna make the best of it for sure.
