5 05. Impressing Luna.
"Hehe.... I can't help it, big brother. I was born this way. It's in my blood," Luna shrugged with a cute smile on her face while wagging her pink-coloured fox tail excitedly.
"Yeah, yeah. But you're still not getting a ride from me."
"What?! But you promised, and as an honourable man, you are bound by your words."
Zach chuckled at the words coming out of his sister's mouth. "Newsflash little sister, I am anything but honourable," He ruffled her pink-coloured hair before getting off the bed.
A smile bloomed on Luna's face as she felt his huge hand on her head and her tail wagged faster as she trailed behind him.
Ever since she entered Zach's room, Luna noticed something different about him. He seemed more jovial than ever before.
It was the first time it had ever happened and she wasn't going to lose the chance to try and get what she had always wanted from him.
"So, you won't keep your promise?" Luna asked with pleading eyes as her fluffy fox ears dropped in sadness.
Zach rolled his eyes with a smile on his face before running his hand through his tousled black hair.
He wasn't really against giving Luna the ride she wanted. In fact, he would be glad to give her a million rides. However, his current body was too weak for such an activity.
So, Zach decided to give Luna an answer she wouldn't be too displeased about.
"Alright, I'll think about it," Zach replied vaguely, knowing that he would provide a more direct answer after he had built up some muscles.
"Really?! Thank you, big brother!" Luna beamed and skipped happily to the alcove of the room before sitting on the plush cushion while waiting for Zach to finish whatever he had to do.
Luna had beautiful, pink, waist-length hair with rosy cheeks, a captivating smile that exuded a charming aura and pink eyes which reflected a hint of kindness, intelligence and craftiness.
She also wore a simple pink dress which only aided in enhancing her natural beauty.
Her main objective for visiting Zach this late in the evening, like every other day, was to have him make a portrait of her, and today was no different.
Zach had started working on it during the day but stopped due to his body's exhaustion. So, he asked her to return later in the evening. His drawing skills weren't actually the best in the world, but Luna loved every single one of Zach's portraits because she knew he worked really hard on it, even though he had a weak body, just so he could see her smile and she really appreciated it.
Meanwhile, Zach made his way to the bathroom where he stood in front of a mirror, looking at his facial features before turning on the faucet and rinsing his face.
Zach had lustrous, black hair, jet-black eyes and a chiselled jawline that made him look irresistible. He was also 1.9m tall.
Even Zach was impressed by how good-looking he was.
"Well, I guess this much should be expected since I am supposed to be a major villain in the novel."
He could also see the runic marks on his neck which were like tattoos spread across his body.
Right after he was done brushing his teeth, he walked out of the bathroom.
"All done?" Luna asked, watching Zach as he closed the bathroom door.
"Mmhmm," He nodded in response while walking towards Luna who was still on the plush cushion.
A few meters away from where she was seated was a painting canvas and a bunch of other drawing materials Zach needed to complete Luna's portrait.
He took a seat and a smile spread on his face as the familiar scent of paint filtered into his nostrils, filling him with a sense of happiness and nostalgia.
He found it satisfying to experience the feeling of drawing once again. It was also nice to see that both he and the Novel's Zach shared the same hobby.
Before the accident back on Earth, Zach had been a really good artist who used his spare time to draw.
This allowed him to gain a lot of experience in drawing and this was what increased his current drawing skills to the Advanced level.
Zach held his paintbrush and calmed his mind which was anxious to get started.
He looked over the canvas and noticed Luna playing with a few toys she brought along to play with while waiting for him.
Zach clapped his hands, drawing Luna's attention towards him. "Shall we begin?"
Luna nodded her head excitedly and instantly seated herself in a way that would enable Zach to observe her face clearly.
She smiled widely as she couldn't wait to see how her portrait would turn out.
Half an hour later, Luna remained seated and composed as she watched Zach completely immerse himself in painting.
This was the first time Luna had ever seen Zach so focused on what he was doing.
The Zach she knew always had a gloomy atmosphere around him whenever he spoke and painted, but this time around, something seemed different about him.
Her favourite brother looked more happy than ever before and his eyes seemed to be filled with excitement and curiosity.
Luna couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was that made Zach seem so different, but she didn't dislike this new side of him either.
'I only hope he becomes more open to Aunt and my sisters as well,' Luna thought inwardly as she envisioned a future with everyone eating together at the dinner table while having a smile on their faces.
However, the sound of Zach standing up from his seat dragged Luna's attention back to reality.
"All done," Zach announced, catching Luna completely by surprise.
"Huh? What? Really?" Luna asked in shock, finding it hard to believe that he had drawn her so fast. Zach simply nodded and Luna stood up from her seat to take a look at the portrait.
She found it hard to believe that he finished the portrait earlier than the scheduled time.
She recalled Zach informing her yesterday that he would use at least three more days to complete the portrait, but now he was saying that he was done with it?
'That can't be possible.'
'Since when did Big Brother become so fast at drawing?' Luna wondered and hastened her steps towards the portrait.
